The great giant stared down at the little boy.
"With one swipe I will cut you in half."
“If you can not handle a challenge you shouldn’t be in this land,” schooled the giant
“You are up against seasoned devouring men of fighting strength that will strike you down easily,” said the gathering crowd.
There came to be a hush.
In the tent, Little David had stood there thinking his position was very poor and that his peril would be death certainly. Only his faith would keep him strong.
What device could he use in battle? What skill did he have? A poor shepherd boy of little means. His knees buckled and he began to cry. Not wanting anyone to see or hear, he hung his head down and prayed quietly to God.
When David came out of the tent there was no hesitation, no fear just determination and confidence. Actually he cared little of what the crowds said about him. What good would it do anyway. What he was concerned about had nothing to do with them. It had everything to do with his problem at hand and God. He looked for the proper stone.
