A post with a question will probably get more attention in a forum category rather than a blog. In this case, you could have posted either in software or scripts (although C is not normally used directly as a script on the web).
First there was Fortran and Cobol (1950s), then there was Algol and Basic and Lisp (1960s). Then in the 1970s Dennis Ritchie got tired of writing the Unix operating system in an assembly language, so he invented C, a high-level language which had features allowing it to easily perform low-level machine-dependent operations when necessary.
C has been at the root of most major computer developments ever since. Java, Python, and most web browsers are normally written in C, or using other high-level tools that are themselves written in C.
As a programming language, I would much rather use Python. The internals of standard Python are in C, and if you want to do internal development on the Python environment, you can write some code in C to optomize it.
