Phew, it's been a long month and a half... and I haven't been able to do much more than (basically) regular moderation on my visits to Frih, and my low points show it!
Things at work have been pretty busy, between trying to get all our field work done in appropriate time frames, through the last weeks of July, into early August, we had some pretty dry conditions putting us into Extreme wildfire risk. The high fire risk meant that we put in a lot of overtime ensuring our fire bans were being followed, watching for fires that may have started, and ensuring our equipment was ready to go. We had rain in the region in that time frame, but it seemed to always miss my side of the park, and we just kept getting dryer. I work a 2hr drive away from home, so, a regular work day tallies up to 12hr; these overtime shifts added four more hours to the day, keeping me out 16hr each day. I'd basically been getting up, going to work, coming back, eating, going to bed, and repeating. It got tiring fast Anyway, we got a good dose of rain over the past week, and we're back to a regular work schedule, so now I just have to start posting again.

I definitely missed you Ankhanu, however like every one else who are on regularly we were all aware you were doing the necessary. If there weren't you and Bikerman, Mathiaus and Vanilla, we'd be in worst of shapes ourselves Forum wise. Glad you're keeping it as clean as you are and just your presence of course makes a huge difference as well. We all are grateful for that. To a certain extent Frihost is going through its own very dry spell with a real fire risk. July/August must be the most inactive I can remember in a long while, and that already comes off a low base. I can't remember last when I'd visit the Forum at different times during the day and not even a post to be found in the General Chat Forum to respond to. It feels slightly better now, like not all of the time, and your blog post just made things feel much better too.

I am glad to hear the park survived the dry spell without any fires. Hopefully you can relax a bit now.
