This is one I made a while back... and may give another go tomorrow, as I've just cooked a bunch of sausage As I recall, it was quite tasty, but then I cooked the sausage in the soup, so all the oils and such were included... this time I've already cooked the sausage, so there won't be quite as much flavour to infuse... Anyway:
9 bone in/skin on chicken thighs
In a slow cooker, cook on low for ~8hr
5 Hot Italian sausages
Cook on low for 3hr with chicken thighs
Remove chicken skin, cartilage and bones, loosely breaking up the chicken meat and cut up the sausage into chunks; replace the meats into the broth.
Red chili powder
Spicy pepper medley
Barbecue chicken spice
tiny bit of Oregano
Cook for 2 more hours on low, adding in some peas and a can of red kidney beans
Cube 4 potatoes and add to the soup, cook at high for 4 more hours
Most of this cook time was to ensure the chicken and sausage cooked thoroughly... you could probably cook for a shorter period and add the potato earlier.
