Fender Jaguar through the years (variations)

Introduced in 1962, the Fender Jaguar has changed a little through the years, with various incarnations. They all share a 24" shortscale scale length and Jaguar off-set contoured body, but there have been deviations in the pickups, neck radius, tail/bridge and controls. Classically, it has a Fender floating bridge vibrato system, 2 vintage single-coil pickups and two circuits, a lead (bright) circuit and a rhythm (dark) circuit, with slider switches mounted on two chrome plates.

Below is a pictorial list of some of the Jaguar incarnations over the years; I haven't included the Japanese and American reissues that are essentially re-releases of a '62 spec Jaguar (with some deviations)

It is interesting to see what has changed over the years. The Jaguar is a prime example of what happens when something slowly evolves into a future version. Some would think that there is not a huge difference but each of these guitars, I can assure you, do have differences in how they are held, fingered, tweaked, and played. Maybe not big enough to matter but I am sure is something small, yet noticable to each evolution of the Jaguar. Perhaps, it is more notced in other areas of production where technology forces itself in a more obvious manner.
