50th Anniversary Fender Jaguar

Looks like Fender is going to be producing a 50th Anniversary Jaguar this year, revealing it at NAMM 2012. It's a little different from a vintage style Jaguar, having the tail piece moved closer to the bridge and hotter pickups, like on the Classic Player series. No info on neck radius, but hopefully it'll be vintage 7.25", rather than 9.5" like the Blacktop and Classic Player models. Three colours have been mentioned, Burgundy Mist (below), Lake Placid Blue, and Candy Apple Red, with a bound and blocked neck.

Looks nice enough, but I'm sure it'll cost way too much Razz

Sounds sweet, Ankhanu. Are you buying one?

I really doubt it.

I already have a Japanese made '66 Classic Jaguar that cost me less than half of what one of these is likely to cost... and I like the more vintage specs. While my pickups are a little weak, I think I'd prefer them to the hotter output of these guys.

It's nice to see Fender commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Jaguar though. They've been pumping out a surprising number of Jaguar models in the past two years, it's kinda nice, even if I find some of them less than properly "Jaguar", with their simplified circuits and lack of chrome. Perhaps I'll make a post going through the various revisions of the Jaguar through the years...
