One of my friends posted a link to a an episode of what appears to be a BBC show, How TV Ruined Your Life; a show, hosted by Charlie Brooker that looks to take a mildly cynical (truthful?) look at how TV culture influences or has influenced modern life. The episode my friend linked was about aspirations and how the glamour and celebrity of television has warped our perspectives of who we are, what we deserve and what we want out of life. It's a pretty cynical exploration, but, holds a fair kernel of truth... and funny.

This is great! I have ironically spent half my day watching you tube clips of someone bemoaning the impact of tv... This one you picked is the best I'd say... thanks for posting, very funny and a lot of truth... uncomfortably true...

Anything Brooker does pretty much rocks. Check out his new ch4 series "Black Mirror" for a depressing, dystopic, incredibly well written view of the world.
