What do you think about text books being free? I think they should de handed out at school, no money. It's education! We shouldn't pay for that! Or at least the books should be cheaper.

I am fond of playing online games and even play for so many hours continuously. Doing this I got interest in game designing. I have a little bit basic knowledge of this field and being very creative, planning to choose it as career. Is designing a very hard task to do? What about future prospects in this field? I heard about few quite interesting methods about learning vocabulary if you learn foreign language and one of them is told to be very effective. The point is to wrtire down words you want to learn in a specific and quite unusual order. Like this:

cat
--- fog
------ tower
--------- lake
------------ pencil
----- --- monster
------ train
--- dog
ice

the thing that makes you able to remember them in short period of time is you focus on a word itself and on the place among the rest from the list. Tahnks to that you learn more and faster.

Maybe you know any other ,quite oryginal method of learning vocab

I've noticed quite a few 'copy-paste' postings appearing in the science forums. This won't do at all. Simply copying a chunk of text from another site and posting it here as your own is not within the TOS. Use quote tags, acknowledge the site the material comes from, and add something of your own. Otherwise I will simply delete any such posting and issue a warning to repeat offenders.

If you don't know how to quote third-party material properly:

in square brackets at the start of the copied passage

/QUOTE

in square brackets at the end of the copied passage

Be sure to add your source as an http reference at the end of the posting or passage.

Also assume that I have taken many AP courses, and my GPA is a 3.92.

Education : Can I be a mom, wife and graduate student?

I always wanted to go to grad school and study neuroscience. But with my husband we decided to first have a baby (I don't regret that!). Now I am finally in grad school but I am also a wife and mom of a two and a half year old. My life right now is pretty crazy...I am taking two classes so I have a test and a project proposal due next week. I also have a fellowship application due tomorrow and this morning my boss gave me the revised proposal I had written and pretty much butchered it. So I had to re-write it ...and I am still not done...I was at the lab until 9:30 today and came home so late that when I got here my baby was already asleep...and I miss him so much. Luckyly my husband is very supportive, but I know I can't come home this late everyday though...and I dn't want to. But school is so demanding and competitive and for some reason my boss doesn't like anything I do...academic related or not.

What do you think? Can I manage everything? ...

When they convene in Copenhagen this December, they should be thinking GREEN, an acronym encompassing four key aspects that must be addressed at COP15. The GR stands for Getting Real. When they drafted the Kyoto Protocol, they created an accord that caused fairness disputes between countries making it unenforceable, and complex. The result was minimal progress and wasted years. I degreed last 2 years a Postgraduate School in Computer Science.At that time this school wasnt equivalent with a master degree.My question is if is worthy to complete my study with a MsC programme.My actual job doesnt require me such a degree like that but who knows if in the future could be required.It will be nice if you could share me also your study experience.Thanks in advance!

I'd be interested to hear different peoples experiences with teachers and the attitudes they portrayed in the classrooms/lecture halls.
Growing up I found study, lets say, not a natural thing for me. I found that the subjects where my teachers / lecturers were enthusiastic about the material, whether it was part of the curriculum or not, they made the entire experience more enjoyable.
The reason I have select this forum is that I had a physics teacher in high school that made the topic very enjoyable. He was a die hard Scotsman and he was enthusiastic about everything to do with physics.
I'd be interested to hear others experiences with influencing there education progression based primarily on the attitude of the educators they encountered during school / university.

Education : My Math teacher is evil and is pissing me off!!!@@@!!!!

Im in 8th grade and i have an EVIL Math teacher.She absolutely LOVED my sister but she hates me.Here are some problems....

1.She will completely notice i have no clue what i am doing and will call on me.Like im paying attention and all but she knows i don't understand and calls me to embarass me.WTF?

2.She intentionaly gives me bad grades.I will like get an 80 but noooo not to her, i miss 3 or 4 then she says that you multiply it by2?Everyone else didn't have to, why me?!

3.She is just plain evil.She will help everyone but me.When i ask in class she will ignore me even when she asked me what i needed.And when were out of class she says "Show Work and i will!!"How gay-.-

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...the person is really starting to piss me off x100.Any solutions Before i kill her!?
