Web Hosting Support : *Poof*... Bye bye Images

Okay, so I just made a bunch of new images for my website. They were all in different folders. Instead of going through and uploading each individual image, I just uploaded the whole image folder. Now, no images on my website work at all. If I go to the individual URL of an image, it says something like It cannot be displayed because there are errors. All the images work fine on my computer, not so much on my website now.

What is the problem?

. Well that idea never took off, and I ended up being the 9th person to request a sub-domain change in August. I purchased my first domain later that month (

) and the idea I had for that also fell through. I created my first blog on the site, not for me, but for a friend in September and ended up re-branding it to Garion's Blog (at which you can find it today at gwplus.net.

Throughout all of this I stuck with Frihost, one of the longest time's I've ever remained with a webhost. ...

I've been patient for a little over 2 weeks, waiting for my request to be handled. Now it's been 18 days since I joined, I requested my account a day or maybe 2 after I registered. A topic about how long it takes says it takes a maxium of 2 weeks. 2 weeks = 14 days.

May an account creator/etc. please handle my account now, or at lease give me a reason as to why it's taking too long?

Ok well I've always had this problem for the last couple of months where the php mail(); function didn't work for whatever reason. Along with that the WebMail on Cpanel also didn't work. However, after messing with the MX settings for the domain and the E-mail authentication I got it to work sort of. I was able to use the mail() function to send to my address diabolus_ira@yahoo.com successfully, however when I tried to send it to my other domain that I use parked at my web site it doesn't send. I did trace route to see if I can send to my domain but it came up as a failure. I got the majority of it to work, just I can't send it to my domain. My theory is that I don't have the domain set up right in the MX settings, I'll try to get that fixed, but if anyone knows a quick fix right now it would be helpful.

i have searched the forums and read the FAQ's. Still can't get it working.

I created an e-mail account(mark@mymark.frihost.net) for my site( mymark.frihost.net). Whenever anyone sends an e-mail it gets returned undelivered with the following message.

The following message to <mark@mymark.frihost.net> was undeliverable.
The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'Verification failed for <Johnson@acs-inc.com>\nThe mail server could not deliver mail to mark.johnson@acs-inc.com. The account or domain may not exist, they may be blacklisted, or missing the proper dns entries.\nSender verify failed'

So I tried from my Yahoo e-mail and got this message.

ok so i built my website, mostly html and some flash, and i tested in dreamweaver and on my c drive, it works fine, everything loads fine and images have no problem. now when i upload it to frih account, and open the page, some images load some dont, some images that do load are all crewed up looking or skewed...is it because we only have 10 gigs of traffic? so it's slow to load? or something wrong with uploading? i tried uploading it twice.. if the site was all flash, it works fine, but html sites im having problems with. anyone have this problem? is it because of the hosting traffic? i've tried another website i built too and the images load skewey....im using mozilla to upload the files.....should i use something else? i have tons of photos i cant use the c panel to do it one by one... ...

I'm using a form on a web page and a PHP script to upload an image.

I'm getting some errors which I can probably figure out myself but is really frustrating me.

Hi,
I've installed the newest version of wordpress mu, and when I try to create a new user under mydomain.com the account is created and the email validation goes fine. But when I attempt to view the newblog.mydomain.com I get a "server not found" error.
Am I doing something wrong? Why can't I view this new subdomain?

COULD THIS BE IT?

Anyone else having trouble with server 2 out there? My site is super slow and is often not loading files... I dont know if this is a temporary problem but i have been trying for some time now and it just doesnt seem to be responding.

Also, is server 2 still being rebooted every hour? If so i guess it could be this but the timeouts/slowness has been lasting much longer and this isnt at the beinging of the hour. I hope this issue gets resolved soon.

i am unable to delete a new ftp account that i created for one of my developers. i go to http://cp.frih.net/ and when i go to FTP Management then select the account and press delete selected. i then get either get a 404 error or a blank page when i submit the form. i get this error in both firefox and internet explorer. i need to change the accounts folder permissions and this looks like the only way to do it delete and recreate the account. when i go to http://216.32.85.170:2222/ i am able to delete the account and recreate but the folder permissions dont get changed

But in my localhost, i am using the INNO Database type to manage deleting datas from many tables at the same time. My bad luck is that that inno DB is not available among the one my PhPMyAmin is proposing me. So is there any table of substitution to that inno? Or there is another way to manage that on phpmyadmin. I recently used my frih.net email to sign up for something that would not accept a free email account such as gmail.com. The problem is, on trying to access my email via the web I get a "Fatal error: Allowed memory size" as it seems this never before used email address has been harvesting spam for q2uite a long time. Over 11,000 of them in fact. I assume the server is balling all these up into one big file and this the PHP web mail is unable to open it due to preset server limits.

Now I don't need any of those 11,000 emails aside from the recent activation email I should have received, and I'll need to start using the account from here on out.

My question is this; How do I go about deleting all these emails (and saving that one that I need) seeing as how I cannot access my email via the web due to the "Fatal error: Allowed memory size" error?

PS- Quick update, I managed to gather my email (all 11,000+ of it) through Outlook Express and did in fact save tha tone email I needed. I thought this would solve my problem completely too, however I find now that even though I've downloaded all these emails the server is still holding onto that huge file for some reason. My Outlook express is not set to leave a copy on the server, so I'm not sure how to go about getting rid of all this spammy email.

i would like to create some albums on my site. some of the images belong to a friend who gave me permission to show them but she fears that the images could be misused by being copied and converted into print quality images - she has copyrighted them and they are part of her professional portfolio.

is there a way i can display them - both as thumbnails and as full size images - but can prevent them to be uplifted? or is there a maximum ppi size i can use so they can't be converted into print quality images?

I'm using the latest version 1.5.3 (just updated today). I never had this problem when I was using Joomla 1.0 on this server, which was quite a while ago. The problem is that I can't save the global configuration from the admin backend. I get a 500 Internal Server Error when I save/apply it:

It isn't really a problem because I can edit the configuration.php manually. But then I can't disable user registration using that way. I'm just wondering whether anyone has the same problem on Joomla. I was thinking it might be a server (mis)configuration.

I have a problem with the .htaccess and I have no idea on it...
I created a .htaccess file and upload it to my public directory so that I can change my permalink structure in Wordpress.
However, sometimes my blog's theme will suddenly disappear or malfunction...and changed back to a simple formatting...

I manually solve this by deleting the file and replace it with another same .htaccess file. The site works again, but after some times, it will change back to the same problem even though I did not make any changes.

So, anyone can help on this problem? what could be the possible errors?

I realize my post count has fallen off around here (long story) but I'm working on fixing that. At any rate, I used to have a domain name (datter.com) pointing to my frihost account here but recently let the url expire as I decided I didn't care enough to keep it anymore. So now that it's gone, I wiped any mention of it from my control panel here at Frihost and tried to set up datter.fri.net which is how I think the base url should work around here. Is that right?

In other words, if one doesn't have a proper domain pointed to a frihost account here what's the default URL to get to a site? As I said I thought it would be datter.fri.net but that appears to not work.

Problem with my site

OK, I'm new to Frihost but I do think I have everything set up right but my site isn't available on the 'net.

I've set up the name servers as instructed in the notice I received from you and it's been more than the usual 24 - 48 hours. I've uploaded all my files, exactly as they were when I had the site hosted on another server a few months ago. (where it was working).

First, after I got my approval message and name server information, I went to the site where I bought my domain name and updated the nameservers.

Then, I uploaded my files via cpanel. (a slow and painful process on dial-up, yuck)

Finally, I waited. I updated the nameservers on April 13th, today is the 17th. Is it possible it's just going to take a little more time?

I've double checked everything, and I've knocked my head against the wall on this til I have a headache. Can someone please take a look, if you can, and let me know what I'm doing wrong!

Heya. I've been starting up my webpage here on frihost now and I ran into a problem. I've installed a phpBB3.0 forum and when I tried to post a certain post it returned with a "Internal Server Error"-page telling me to contact the administrator and check the server error log. So I did, but all it said was

Which is just a 404 error for the 500 error page (I think?).

Now I tried to check what the problem was, because I had posted other topics without problems. What I found was that when I write the word "from" anywhere in a post on the entire forum I get an error...

Now it's a bit problematic to have a forum where you can't write "from".

I guess that since the error is "Internal Server Error" the problem could be with the host. Atleast that's what people have been telling most other people asking (haven't found a solution for my problem with searching).

Is this problem on your end? Any mod_security settings? Would appreciate some help!

Web Hosting Support : I can't connect to Akismet

I've reinstalled WordPress, and I'm trying to get the Akismet plugin working. I have a API key ready to go...but I keep getting this:

There was a problem connecting to the Akismet server. Please check your server configuration.

Is anyone else here having that problem? I've looked everywhere, made sure I've got the right settings and nothing is happening.

This started after I upgraded to the latest version.

Is there something that needs to be done from Frihost's end? or from my end?

i have a joomla 1.5 installed in my '/public html' directory

now i want to install a joomla 1.0.15 in another directory so i created a new diretory '/public html/new directory1/new directory2' and i uploaded my installation files there... in new directory2

the problem is i cant find a solution regarding the

save session path

which is

unwritable

how to make this writable?

any suggestions is appreciated
