I would like to learn German.
I have couple of courses: Michel Thomas, Pimsleur, but I have a terrible lack of motivation.
Nobody around me speaks German, everybody say that is very hard to learn... how will I get some extra-motivation?

I love the Russian language!

Languages and Translation : I love the Russian language!

So, on a whim, I picked a book on the Russian language off of the shelf in my library.
At first I was baffled by the cryllic alphabet, but once you learn that, the language is amazingly easy!
There is no word for 'is' or 'to be', which greatly simplifies simple sentences.
There is no word for 'the' either, again making things simple.
And, the only difference between a question and a statement is the question mark; no rearranging the words!

And above all that, it's great fun to be learning a language that is so

foreign

being able to write in a different alphabet, and say distinctly Russian words is great fun! I love seeing people's faces when I show them what I'm reading, and they can't even pronounce the words, because of the unfamiliar letters, much less know what they mean!

I know few pepole like to study chinese language in fact, in there oppinon, chinese just like a "Mark" in cultrue and a "Market" in ecnomy .

While, there are a few softs for those pepole who like to study chinese for the purpose of tradtion or cultrue comunications, you can find it by yourself or ask me.

But I think It is really harder to study chinese without a primary teacher.

Does anyone know how to pronounce Xaime the Hawaiian way? I was told that the Hawaiian language doesn't use "X", but I found that name at this site - http://www.babynamescountry.com/origins/hawaiian_baby_names9.html. The name's suppose to mean "second son".

So I am looking at getting a tattoo that says - "Remember and Learn" but I want it in German, for several personal reasons.

I have used the online translators and I get similar results but I would like a human translation to confirm it for me, I will give out Frih$ to people who give me good answers, I would like a few translations.

Hello, I'm brazillian and last week, during my english class, my teacher said that lie means two things... I just knew it...
He said that Lie, meaning telling a lie, in continuous form, is liing, not lying (as I thought it was), and Lie, meaning putting yourself down, in continuous form, is lying...
Well, I searched it and I've found in the dicionary that both is Lying ( not liing, like my teacher said) and I decided show it to him...
He telled me that both are right , and some countries uses "Liing" to diferenciate the meaning of the word, but in formal use, he said that's batter use Lying for them.
Now I decised to ask it, to know if it's really occur, or if he told me a Lie
