Frihost Support : Googleads warning ....

I had something strange happening in tonight's Frihost session. Every time I submitted a posting, my anti-virus software Kaspersky came up with the following screen:

I'm not so sure what it means?

The "report" it refers to has to do with "filtering" and denying "googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/test_domain.js".

Is there something I need to be worried about?

I am currently using Ewisoft Website Builder, and I put in all my information and it says the Web Folder is wrong It says Optional because it can find it, but It cannot. and I put in Public_Html and it still doesn't do anything, It puts the file on the site (The Test Page) that works but it just cant find the folder..

If a moderator should decide to "spamcan" a posting by deleting it. Is there any way that an automated message could be forwarded to the person whose posting has been "spamcanned"?

I've had my first most unfortunate "spamcan" experience late yesterday, when a posting I had made had been "spamcanned". The next morning when I posted I noticed my posting was gone, and not having had this experience

in the 5700 postings that I have made this far, and in absence of a notification of any kind, I thought there must have been a technical reason for the posting that was no longer there. I then repeated the posting, only to discover afterwards by way of a posting by a Moderator in that thread that my posting had been deleted, and since I had repeated the posting (without knowing that a Moderator had deleted it) that I had broken a Frihost rule on top of everything else.

During the initial posting that was made in which I was accused of breaking a Frihost rule, I thought that maybe there had been something wrong with the posting I had responded to, to the equivalent of being advertising of a kind. Then when I asked about that, I was told that there had been nothing wrong with the original posting in the thread, but that my reply to the posting had been deemed unneeded!!!! The posting I made was genuine and sincere. And the content of the Moderator's posting in that thread most unfair. However, I believe that there is another rule that covers him and I probably have no choice but to accept his ruling. I most certainly will watch out for postings that get deleted in future, as to date I have never had any reason to suspect a Moderator being concerned about "unneeded" postings as "spam".

What would have been helpful, if this is at all possible however, would be an automatic message that would warn Frihosters if their postings have been deleted by a Moderator. If I had known that my posting had been removed by a Moderator I would never have done the second posting. ...

What should Frihost forums member do:
1) post all related to the same topic in the same thread (do not start new if the old one exists),
2) do not dig up the old thread (it seems as a contradiction to the first point).

It seems that I unintentionally broke the rule.

Looks as though this has become my problem as well or is it a server problem? I can't edit my Website with FrontPage or Expressions Web II.

Alternatively could it be a server problem? This is the message that came up when I tried to access my cPanel:

I was trying to use the search on Frihost just now and it doesn't seem to be working, for any words.

Here is the error I get: Query failed: connection to localhost:3312 failed (errno=61, msg=Connection refused).

I thought this may be due to the server change, so I figured I'd let you guys know incase you need to change something on it to get it working again.

Uploading problem

There are some uploading problems when i upload files in direct admin..

1st..when my connection is cut of during the uploading then some times direct admin can not open bagain..

2nd cookie duration is too short..

after cut of the connection all cookies lost and again try to login...

3rd. some time dirct acces of public html can be disable.. i mean bookmarking.. bookmark page not

open and creat login problems..

if i am saying wrong then also mention.. but it is happen for me..

i am sorry to say that the frihost server is too busy and not fast...

if any moderator need suggesions then i must give

I've been having serious problems with posting again tonight. In addition to time-outs, and being kicked out, almost continuously, I've lost in number of postings as well. Not sure what the problem is.

The first time when I lost a posting credit, I thought it was because instead of navigating away from the time-out Web page, I tried to refresh it. When I refreshed it, the posting went through, but I got neither credit for the posting, nor points for it and when I finally got back to the forum, I noticed that my name was not on the "last name posted" against the forum, the previous poster's name was still there. Then when I posted after and the exact same thing happened, i.e. I submitted the posting and it timed out. I navigated back to the forums page, and then when I returned and redid the posting, I got points for it, but no credit for the posting.

Not going well tonight! Are other people having problems as well?

PS: Just timed out again, and got kicked out after. But when I redid the posting this time round I got both credit for posting and points. Almost like Frihost is working in "bursts", it goes well for a few minutes, and then it slows down and the time-outs and kick-outs happen. ...

Not sure if this is the right place to post this during my time here at frihost we have never been down so long so the problem never came up but I think we should all get credits for the points we lost over the last few days. We had down time over several days and if you weren't constantly checking the forum to see when it was back up you couldn't post to make sure you covered the constant removal of points. Even if you did there where whole days that you just couldn't post.

It might sound petty to ask for those points back but I think its just being fair.

Steve, I'm not the exception here, but reaching 5000 postings has been a personal milestone for me. The real bad part of it though, and this being more of a punishment than a reward, is the name "Frihost Freak"! Obviously the smooth operation of Frihost comes first, but is there anything you can do in the short-term to change the name "Frihost Freak"? Such as leaving the name blank or replacing it with a name of your choice until you have more time to go for the detailed combos with the names and new artwork? Hi,

I had taken backup copy of mysql database and now I need to restore that backup. I'm using phpMyAdmin but I'm finding it hard to restore over slow internet connection because many times the connection is lost and phpMyAdmin keeps uploading same file many times due to 'script timeout'.

How webmasters restore their backup? When I tried to use cPanel Backup to restore database, it restored only partial. My database has more than 70 tables and cPanel restore brought 24 only. Your help is highly appreciated.

FTP Problems

I've been using FrontPage and FileZilla for a few years now and everything was working fine. I just set up a new website through an existing one and the FTP was working for a few days. But it stopped yesterday. FileZilla accepts the data connection, transfers the info, and says Directory listing successful. But nothing has been transferred. I can't see where the problem is. From another FTP discussion, I saw reference to Active and Passive modes, but don't know how to find or change that, and just noticed that my FTP said it was entering Passive mode for the last attempt. I don't know if it was always like that. I didn't change anything. Ideas anyone? ...

I've just subscribed to ADHL Internet services at home with 4MBps and that is pretty awesome coming from a dial-up before. I'm not sure whether this could be a factor, but last night and today I have been kicked out of Frihost ever so often. It is a complete kick out, i.e. I need to log in again. This is different from before (when I had dial-up) when I have had incidences of having been kicked out, but remained logged in, and then could not get back in. Posting has been OK in the last couple of weeks with dial-up, although slow of course. But there has been no kick outs. The kick outs restarted last night and perhaps the ADHL has nothing to do with it, maybe it is the same reason as when I was using dial-up.

Wonder what the reason is for it? I'm back to copying my postings before I submit them. Just in case I get kicked out again. ...

I'm probably missing something but when I have used other forums, there are detailed ways to monitor replies to my threads/posts. The only option I see on my forum account page is to get emailed every time sometime posts a reply. I don't want to get cluttered with emails every time this happens.

In the other forums, you could subscribe to a list of threads, at which point you would recieve notification of any changes in your account page. There was also the option of being emailed with all replies once a week, etc.

Are my options limited right now because my status is "new frihoster" or did I overlook the obvious?
