Help on GoDaddy!

Domain Names : Help on GoDaddy!

I have purchased a domain through GoDaddy, and I have it forwarded to my frihost domain. On my dektop, I can go to my GoDaddy domain and view my webpage fine, but on any other computer I have tried it is a blank page.

I have sent an email to GoDaddy support, and after several days I have not received a response. I am very disappointed with their service thus far, and don't know where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was starting a website that is on a tight budget. Does anyone know where i can find a free domain name to possibly sound professional. I know that in reality there is no such thing as a free domain name, but right now free sounds like a plan no matter how i get it.

Domain Names : .co.cc domains .... are they legit?

I did some searches and it would appear that one can register "free" domains with

co.cc

. I have not a clue what they are about? Does anyone know what the negatives or catches could be with having a .co.cc domain? How are they regarded by search engines for example? How do they compare with the other domains such as .com, .org etc?

Ok, I've decided to write this guide for people looking for information on setting up domains with godaddy, although I am sure you can do this with other domains as well.

Note that

Domain

means your domain.

1. Purchase the domain and log into your account.
2. Mouse over domains title and click "My Domains"

3. Tick the box next to your selected domain and click on "Set Nameservers"
4. You will have an area like this on the right side of your screen like this:

5. Fill in ns1.frih.net and ns2.frih.net (Or ns1.frihost.net and ns2.frihost.net if you are on server 1).
6. You will get a message that says "Your domain changes have been submitted!"

7. Log into your directadmin account. (YOU.frih.net:2222)
8. Almost there! ...

I am getting very close to Transferring my Domain Name over to GoDaddy.

I promise this isn't a scam, i used it on one of my other websites and it was great. You have to get 200 points to get a domain name and then once you do, you have to make 13 posts a month afterwords to keep it up. its really easy to.

Which statement is correct and which one is not. Many people I have found in forums, in search queries are in quest of free domain names. I started searching free host and a free domain name since long time and finally concluded that free host though might be available but free domain is far from possibility. Some domain names such as uni.cc, co.nr are available but these are not real domain names though. Moreover they require your site to include a link back to them displaying their logo or text.

Now I'm searching for a free (?) domain name. Recently I'm involved in NamePros and I am testing it yet. So it's too early to mention what they claim before I use it. After I get a domain name from there and how they behave for it, I'll certainly post my experiences. Till now what I have found there is:
1. You can use the forum for discussing. The forum is really nice and very sincere users I have found there.
2. They have developed forum currence, they call it NP$. ...

I have a website hosted in two servers (mirror sites). Now can I provide the two name servers NS1 and NS2 of one server and NS3 and NS4 of other server? If I configure NS this way will my site open even when any one of the server is down?

Frihost Domain Name Changing

I had hosted a website from frihost: http://tenb.frih.org/.

Then I went to the Control Panel. I clicked on Domain Administration and changed the domain name from the above to http://www.cathedral10.com/.

Now I am not sure how to link the servers http://ns1.frih.org/ and http://ns2.frih.org/ to this new domain.

When I go to my new domain, it gives an error message stating that the url does not exist.

What should I do next?

hi,
I have setup a freedomain on co.cc, and provided the nameservers to my site at http://mysite.whateverfreehost.com/

It is setup now so if anyone visits http://mysite.co.cc, they are visiting the site hosted at http://mysite.whateverfreehost.com/.

But I want to set it up so if someone visits http://mysite.whateverfreehost.com/ , I want them to be redirected to http://mysite.co.cc/. When I try and setup a redirect I get an error about a redirecting loop.

Does anyone know what the best way is of setting this up?

Well, I bought a domain name from a website, and I had to renew it in june, but, I didn't, and so the website was basically doomed.

So, after a month, the website was supposed to be "removed from the database", so that I could just buy the domain name again, but that didnt happen... whenever I searched for the details of the domain name, it just said "unavailible".

Finally , I somehow managed to get the domain name by saying "I want to transfer my domin to XYZ.com" instead of "I want a new domain"..

well, after all that, I added my nameservers, (as frihost gave me) and the confirmation for buying the domain came up.

I though that maybe they would take a day to start redirecting people to my website

But nothing happened, and ya,

I'm not able to open Cpanel

. I think maybe I'll have to do something there, but it just wont open..

can someone staighten things out..?

I see many people think that selling pr domains is the fastest way to make money online, but if a domain with pr but is a dropped domain, the price would be much cheaper.
