Hey all, I kinda made mention of this in the computer-related obsession topic, but now i'm just wondering.. how many of you play MMORPGs for your hobby?

I have lots of hobbies, but sometimes i like to log onto Final Fantasy XI and join the community of friends i've established on there to do some things that would never be possible in real life.. its kind of fun, as long as you realize that its

not

real.

i own 27 chickens including 6 roosters and i breed them... so far i've hatched 9 eggs lost about 13 and got about 7 different colors. I've got one that looks like a road runner and she hase different colored legs, then i've got another that has 5 toes and her breed doesnt carry 5 toes. So basically i've got a bunch of freaks, but hey free fresh eggs, i've got one hen that lays a giant brown egg 3 times bigger then large store bought white i have my site on a crappy host right now... im looking to change over to here this sites seems way more focused on helping you and offering great free hosting if you wanna see the site, if the server is even working its http://redmtnroost.exofire.net its not completely done...but its a start

R/C helicopters

okay so iv recently bought a mini combat force helicopter which is pretty dam fun when i got it i kind of instantly broke it not knowing how to fly it properly, i broke the back tail fin, but it still worked fine then i broke the back rotor luckly it came with a spare, then one of my friends when drunk had a go and flew it straight into the celing and broke it, im now awaiting spare parts from hong kong, but other than that those mini helicopters are loadsa fun shame they only last 5-6 mins but they take 15 mins to charge so its not all that bad i suppose. then today i got a birthday present for my birthday on saturday from my girlfirends dad, and it was a larger scale R/C helicopter was only £20 and takes 3 hours to charge but aparently only 15-20 flight time, which is a let down considering the 3 hour wait to recharge, suppose i cud buy loads of battery packs for it. but i dont know its handaling yet, i have to wait till my 18th birthday on the 26th.

I admire them for their power, nobility, and vitality.

A little over a year ago my wife died after a very long illness. The other day, I was reading a novel where one of the characters was dying and it told of the pain her husband endured watching it happen and not being able to do anything about it.

I had to put the book down and I started to cry. After just a few minutes my cat came to me, rubbing his head on my hands to get me to pet him. Which I did. Now, just the night before I had to hold him down and give him a flea treatment. He totally hates that. Up until I started to cry, he was still mad at me and wouldn't come near me.

I petted him but still continued to cry. Then he did something he had never done before. He climbed up onto my lap (he is not a lap cat and hates to be held), stretched up with his paws on my chest, and he rubbed his head on my cheeks, literally drying my tears with his fur.

He stayed close by me all that night, curled up tight against my body. He's my little angel cat. ...

My real hobby and pasion is indoor Karting. I think that every boddy who feels the need to drive fast sould get into a indoor/outdoor kart and do it over there. Ik know it saves mee alot of monny becoaus i don't get fines fort driving to fast.

Maybe you think indoor karting cant be a hobby but you sould know the competition in belgium is fears.

I absolutely love radio controlled things especially airplanes. Currently I have nine with three of them in the progress of being built. I have an F4-U Corsair, a large scale P-51 Mustang, a P-40 Warhawk, some silver Mooney looking thing, a biplane, three trainers, and most recently, a .50 class heli. More down to earth I have a Traxxas T-Maxx, a Traxxas Jato, and a small little boat I've had forever. I love all of these pieces of art and have a blast every time I get one out.

I personally dont like hobbies wich its last objective is to show other people how patient we are. For exapmple those people that hunt butterflies and are the entire life trying to catch the biggest and brightest only to show that they have it, dont like me. I like more hobbies wich can make you a better person or can make other persons better. For example, making the garden makes you better and makes other people better because it makes people feel well to see a well planted grass with beautiful flowers and is good excercise for you. Some people seem to feel they would never undertake a long distance move with a pet, thinking it would be better/easier to get rid of it and just get another one later. I can't agree with that idea. I just completed nearly a 1000 mile cross country move with a parrot and two cats and the thought of leaving them behind never entered my mind As a matter of fact I made this move more to protect them and so that I could keep them with me, than for the sake of just moving.

It wasn't easy, it wasn't fun. It was hard and a little nerve racking, but I feel they are part of my family and I would no sooner have left a child (if I had one) behind than I would have left any of my little furry or feathered kids.

I feel like I came up with the "no one left behind" idea before the military did. When I lived in Florida, in the hurricane belt, every pet I had, had his or her own carrier, food and water, and space in the mini van in case we had to make a run for it.

People who leave their animals behind just sicken me. Even if I had a horse and no horse trailer to take it to safety, you bet your backside I'd be on his back and we'd be H-- bent for leather for a safe spot together. No One In My Family - two legged or four legged - Gets Left Behind.

Just my 2 cents.

I love birds. Any kinds of birds. I also like the twitter birds, the small ones like sparrows that we see everywhere. It is fascinating how they can play with one another. Today when I was walking I saw two tiny sparrows playing with one another. Really cute. Right now with the intense heat in the middle east these tiny little birds have their beaks open almost all of the time.

I also love to watch the swallows do their acrobatic diving. I wish I could join them as it looks like incredible fun. Think birds are very intelligent creatures and the diversity in species is amazing.

I've been a musician for a long time and taught music in high schools but now i'm retired i have been playing in a band and have learned about recording as a hobby. Last week i recorded a demo for an advertising jingle and was paid AUD$500! If the ad campaign goes ahead there are 36 recordings to do (12 versions in three languages)... all i was doing was having fun! woot!

I'm pet sitting for a friend this week. He has a 17 month old German Shepherd. He and his girlfriend keep the dog in its crate a great deal of the time. I've owned dogs most of my life and I've never used a crate until now. I'm using this one - mostly - because my friend has left me instructions on how he wants his dog taken care of. Also, the crate is kept in a spare bedroom with the door closed so the poor dog can't even watch what's going on in the household.

My thoughts on dog crates are that they MAY be a good tool for house training/breaking a puppy.

However, beyond that, IMHO if you want something to play with when it amuses you to play with it and then you can put it away when you're tired of it. Maybe you should just get one of those robot dogs.

Real live dogs have feelings, get lonely, need love, affection and attention. A robot dog would just sit in the corner until you decided to turn it on.

Hi,
I'm currently pet sitting for a friend who has a German Shepherd. This dog apparently came from a breeder who raised dogs for the military and police. Why my friend decided to take a puppy with that background I can't understand since they just wanted it for a pet.

The dog is now 17 months old, he was neutered at 6 months. Of course he still has a great deal of puppy energy and he's not a dumb dog. He can learn. But he's a very dominate, alpha type dog. Neither my friend nor his bride to be are alpha type people, therefore the dog has decided to take the alpha position in the family pack.

Mostly, it's not a severe problem, EXCEPT, this dog is extremely aggressive about his food. You can not go any where near him during feeding time without being growled at, snarled at, and causing the dog to eat its food as quickly as it can. So far, luckily, no one has been bitten ... yet.

My friend has gotten a lot of advice from several different people who claimed to be dog trainers and so far nothing has worked.

I've always had large dogs and German Shepherds are my favorites, and I've always done all of my own training. ...

Hey everyone. Just thought I'd start a topic on one of my hobbies, yearbook collecting.

I currently have around 500 yearbooks of all types, about 270 of those being Kentucky schools or colleges.

I have a high school yearbook autographed by Mike Lieberthal (Philadelphia Phillies) and another that includes Brianna Scurry (US Womens soccer). In my collegiate yearbooks I have many athletes that went on to play their sport professionally.

I like to collect yearbooks for many reasons:
a) their historical value
b) their genealogical value
c) the cultural differences of different areas
d) we don't have anything like this back in England (where I'm originally from) and I really wish we did. A memento of my high school days would be most treasured now.

Anybody out there interested in this hobby too? How about telling us if you went to school with someone noteworthy and letting us know which school and class they would have been in?

I don't know if anyone has made a topic on this, I could not find any on my searches.

One of my many weird hobbies is dog training. I bought a dog about year ago specifically so I could compete in agility competitions with him. Unfortunately I had to leave him with my mother when I moved, but he is still being trained for agility. My mother tells me stories of him on the obstacle courses, and I have to laugh. He seems to really like it.

So, anyone else ever take part in dog sports or competitions? I mean like flyball, frisbee, agility, and other training competitions. NOT dog beauty shows!

Training a dog is very fun and challenging. Someday I want to do Daschund with a dog. And perhaps sheep herding competitions. Of course, I would have a dog for each

I know there are a lot of animals many people don't like, that are synonymous with negative characteristics and attributes or are just plain viewed as disgusting. But if you actually learn and read about them, they're quite interesting. So I'm starting this thread for people who would like to celebrate them.

One of my favorite animals is the spotted hyena--it's actually a pack hunter, not a scavenger. It culls the herd of the weak wildebeests just like wolves do, running them down through sheer persistence. The spotted hyena is probably as intelligent as a dolphin and it is one of the few animals where females are dominant.

I am 17 and have already played piano for 10 years. I have taken 7-8 years of piano lessons and I have been playing still. I have taken 3 years of guitar lessons (even though I haven't played for a while). I am in a band at the moment and I make my own music. Our band is looking for a guitar player, but we have a drummer, singer, and emcee (me). We're working on a mixCD right now and we're going to copyright it and release it (for free to people around the city). We used to use a program called Magix Music Maker 11 Deluxe for our music and I can say by experience that's an alright program. However, now we use CakeWalk Music Creator 4 and I recommend that program more. If you are a beginner use Magix because it's more user friendly. You may find that CakeWalk can be a pain when you first use it, but if you get the program spend a few days using it and you may end up liking it. ...
