Movies and Television : Wall-E

Just watched Wall-E last night and loved it. Has anyone else seen this film? I think it might just be the best Pixar film yet. Any other ideas out there? Did anyone dislike it? If so, why is that? The one thing I was disappointed with was the part after the credits... I sat the whole time just to see the BNL logo!

Stats : 49 Replies

Movies and Television : Paranormal Activity

Did anyone else freak out, but only for the last like, 10 seconds? I agree, it was really scary, but not for most of the movie. Still, it was a really good way to make a movie, can you imagine the insane profits they're pulling in for such a low budget film? Insane. They're already planning a sequel, I can't help but be not-so-optimistic for it.

Stats : 9 Replies

Movies and Television : Ice Age

Who likes the "Ice Age" cartoon series? Probably one of the most entertaining ones for me. The characters are just so beautiful, especially the mammoths Manny and Ellie, and then the Tiger is quite cute too.

Drag me to hell

Movies and Television : Drag me to hell

I just saw this movie 2 days ago, and I almost crapped my pants in a few scenes in it.
A definite must watch, for horror fans, from Sam Raimi.

A nice story, but with few quirks in the acting. Like in one scene, there's a loud noise, and everyone is closing their ears, and in the next scene, the lady's hands are down, and yet in the next scene, the lady is removing her hands from her ears.

A really good horror movie, after a loong time.

Stats : 4 Replies

Movies and Television : Madagascar

I just watched this show over the weekend. It is very funny and I like the songs inside..hehehe

Watch it if you like to have a good laugh, though it is quite short.

Quote:

An animal rights group stages a daring infiltration into the New York Central Park Zoo, freeing four best friends (a giraffe, a hippopotamus, a lion, and a zebra) from captivation. When the ship capsizes, they end up in Madagascar, where they are free to live in the wild... but these New Yorkers, raised in captivity, have absolutely no clue about how to fend for themselves without human care. Hilarity and high jinks ensue.

Starring : Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett-Smith

Movies and Television : The IT Crowd

wikipedia.org wrote:

The show tries to add a large number of references to geek culture and professionalism, mostly in set dressing and props. Dialogue (both technical and cultural) is usually authentic and any technobabble used often contains in-jokes for viewers knowledgeable in such subjects.

This is a great series, I've jsut starting watching it and have to say it's one of the best comedies i've seen. It's from the UK and has a lot of great humor relating to information technology and the like. Quick and witty humor is shown throughout by most of the characters and keeps it very entertaining.
I recommend anyone interested in the IT field to check it out

Stats : 3 Replies

Movies and Television : Thundercats

Anyone here remember the old anime cartoon called Thundercats?
I believe they are making a movie of it also, probably by next year.

That was an amazing cartoon back in the day, and I saw a few episodes of it recently, and its still good, although the animation then was spectacular.

Stats : 1 Post
Based on the harrowing novel by Cormac McCarthy, starring Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, Robert Duvall and Guy Pearce. The novel was fantastic, thought-provoking, very disturbing but very well-written.

Here is the trailer:
Official Trailer for The Road

Anyone going to see it? If you do, let us know what you think here.

Stats : 6 Replies

I am thinking about giving it another shot however so can anyone suggest online locations where I could view more episodes?

Movies and Television : Flash Forward

Anyone else really excited for this show to premier? It looks like it's going to be a really interesting character/society study. Just think of all the different points begging to be made! You could make this a commentary on literally anything, and it'd never have to be tied down to anything if it didn't want to be! Clever idea, clever presentation, good casting lineup, I think this show has absolutely everything going for it and I don't say that very often, especially without seeing even the first episode. Needless to say, if it disappoints, there will be hell to pay. She thinks that her white skin has been spelled to turn into an ugly, dark skin that causes the Prince staying away from her. The tragicomedy grows up as the mother recruits 7 fake dwarfs and the prince to join the treasure hunting side by side with the Snow.

Unfortunately, the guy who is supposed as a Prince is just an idle student and 7 dwarfs are 7 people with different talents, characters and conspiracies. Although quarrelling with each other regularly, 7 dwarves still stand together to join the adventure with the white snow. the fake prince turns to love the white snow. Ironically, the more he wishes for her quick recovery the more he lives in panic that his true face will be revealed.

Stats : 1 Post

Disguised as a travel agent, “Su-ji” is a government spy with six years' experience who can't reveal her career to her boyfriend “Jae-joon.” After she lies again, her boyfriend breaks up with her and leaves without notice, leaving her struggling alone with her sadness. Three years later, while chasing an industrial spy in disguise as a cleaning lady, she happens to run into Jae-joon. He's become an international certified accountant, and seeing him throws her feelings into doubt.

He's a newbie who got a late start, but he's highly motivated and takes off on his first field mission, chasing a Russian crime organization, when he runs into Su-ji.

Movies and Television : Who's your favorite actor/actress?

Is there a board like this already? I'd be surprised if not but I didn't see one so I thought I'd make one. My personal favorite actor of the moment would have to be Eric Bana. I remember seeing him for the first time in Troy, and loving him then, but recently I saw him in Munich, and he blew me away. He's so talented, and seems like a very genuine, down to earth kinda guy, which you never get much of in Hollywood.

Stats : 20 Replies

Movies and Television : Couples Retreat

Okay, what'd you think about this movie? Taking into consideration that it's meant to be a chick flick, I usually set my sights low and just end up laughing, entertained and happy.

This movie did that for the most part, but then the ending came suddenly, unfulfilling, and just kinda bad. It's not the believability that I'm knocking, it's the lack of attention the ending got. It was like they just kinda packed up shop and stopped caring.... Sad.

Stats : 2 Replies

Movies and Television : Favorite Stand-up comedians?

I'm sorry, I couldn't figure out which forum to post this in.

So who's your favorite Stand-up comedian? Mine's Jerry Seinfeld. He's just great.

I also like Dane Cook.

George Carlin's fine as well - after a while, it's just the same thing over and over but it's still good.

Stats : 18 Replies

Movies and Television : The Amazing Race

What you think about this reality show? You like it? What seasons are the best? Your favourite and the worst contestants? If you have good imaginenation, post your route of the race, what you are dreaming.

I think this show is great, one of the best. Always, when this ends, I am waiting to see the next season.

Best seasons, in my opinion, are 5, 6, 7, 8. They are more exciteing than others.

The best couple I think all the time are Chip and Kim(season 5); Kris and Jon(season 6). The worst persons in this show are Jonathan(season 6) and Colin(season 5).

My route, what I am dreaming about:
USA->Peru->Chile->New Zealand->Malaysia->Mongolia->RSA->Tansania->San Marino->Portugal->Creece->USA

Stats : 8 Replies

Transformers 2 Revenge of the fallen

Movies and Television : Transformers 2 Revenge of the fallen

Quote:

The full scene was Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox going into Sam's parent's garage to talk with Bumblebee, who is, apparently, still having trouble with his voicebox. He's able to cough up a few staticy words, but still communicates mostly through pop songs (lame).

Shia tells Bumblebee that he's going away to college and can't bring him along. Freshmen aren't allowed to have cars at his college, apparently, and Sam doesn't need protection anymore anyway, he says.

As he talks with Bumblebee, Fox is outside… we see that the Witwicky house is being repaired… so I take it this isn't too long after the first one or there was a bit of action that happened prior to this clip.

Anyway, Fox stips out of her black leather pants and jacket, revealing a dress… Prom? Something. But Megan Fox stripping is a-okay for whatever reason.

Back in the garage, Bumblebee isn't taking the news well, dramatically crying (window-washer liquid) and waving his arms. This could have actually been fairly emotional. LaBeouf is playing the scene that way, but the robot is so over the top I don't know if it was supposed to be a comic scene or not.

So, the scene wasn't all that great, but the montage of action was fucking awesome, as I'm sure Bay would say. We get a look at the Devastator (massive and pretty sweet) knocking the hell out of Optimus. The shot is from far away and Optimus is fighting in a large, open grass field in bright daylight. He's hit and sails through the air towards us, hitting the ground and rolling to a stop right at the camera. ...

...

Stats : 22 Replies

Movies and Television : The Terminal

Wow, that's an incredible movie with Tom Hanks and Catherine-Zeta Jones. And the best part for me is that Tom Hanks speaks Bulgarian in the movie

It starts in an airport.Tom Hanks(Victor Novorski) is an imigrant, whose country is in war and now Victor can't leave the USA, but he can't go in the USA...so he's stuck in the airport...the movie is quite...strong...something dramatic and romantic...because he meets a beautiful air-hostess, but she has another boyfriend, but she fells in love with Victor, but she still has a boyfriend XD

Well, in the end, Victor is allowed to go in the USA(because the war in his country, Krakozia, is over) and he does what he came to do - get an autograph from a member of his dad's favourite Jazz Band(the other members have given their autographs already)...

The movie is great and I really want to recommend it to all of you guys

Stats : 7 Replies
