The man known as The Prodigy is fighting for the first time since moving up to welterweight to try and regain the title from Georges St. Pierre at UFC 94. Penn accused GSP of greasing his shoulders so Penn couldn't get a good grip with his legs, but this takes away from the fact that Penn just got beaten for the second time by a better fighter, and he was out of his comfort zone, which is 155 pounds. Penn is a great grappler, but his striking is underrated, and his all-around skills are the reason why he's the favorite in your offshore sportsbook.

Kenny Florian (11-3)
Florian has won his last six fights, four of which came by submission. Florian defeated former champion Joe Stevenson with a rear-naked choke at UFC 91 to become the No.1 contender for the lightweight crown. This is his second shot at the belt, as he lost to Sean Sherk back at UFC 64, but he hasn't lost since. Florian has admitted that he looks up to Penn, who is one of the top lightweights in the world, but he also realizes that to be the best, you have to be the best.

What Will Happen: UFC 101 odds have Penn as a -220 favorite in this main event, and this will be a matchup featuring two fighters who are well versed in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The difference could be in their strikes, as Penn has a boxing background to go with his excellent takedowns, while Florian is known to have some of the sharpest elbows in all of MMA once he gets his opponents down to the ground. We won't see Penn get manhandled as he did in the GSP fight, and you could tell that gaining the weight to move up had an effect on his conditioning. ...

Sports : How do you define a sport?

In the first few years after college, I traveled a lot for my job and was blessed with the opportunity to spend several months in Europe on my employer's bill. While there I began discussing sports with my colleagues from the UK and we began creating a list of rules in defining a "Sport" vs a "Game".

A Sport vs a Game:

Our initial analysis (typically performed after work in a local pub) quickly ruled that to be a sport the event could not be classified as a board game. This quality quickly allowed us to agree that things like Chess or Monopoly were games not sports.

Being from the US and my colleagues being from the UK, we found that our primary disagreement usually involved cricket and baseball. These 2 events always caused us to argue extensively. My argument was that it couldn't be a sport because the players wore sweaters and the rules made no sense what-so-ever to me. They argued that baseball... well I don't remember their argument because they were wrong and I was typically drunk by then.

Anyway, I pose the question to you out there, what criteria do you use to determine if something is a game or a sport?

Bandy is played on ice, using a single round ball. Two teams of eleven players each compete to get the ball into the other team's goal using sticks, thereby scoring a goal. The team that has scored more goals at the end of the game is the winner; if both teams have scored an equal number of goals, then the game is a draw. There are exceptions to this rule, however.

The primary rule is that the players (other than the goalkeepers) may not intentionally touch the ball with their heads, hands or arms during play. Although players usually use their sticks to move the ball around, they may use any part of their bodies other than their heads, hands or arms and may use their skates in a limited manner. Heading the ball will result in a five-minute penalty.

In typical game play, players attempt to propel the ball toward their opponents' goal through individual control of the ball, such as by dribbling, passing the ball to a team-mate, and by taking shots at the goal, which is guarded by the opposing goalkeeper. Opposing players may try to regain control of the ball by intercepting a pass or through tackling the opponent who controls the ball; however, physical contact between opponents is limited. Bandy is generally a free-flowing game, with play stopping only when the ball has left the field of play, or when play is stopped by the referee. After a stoppage, play can recommence with a free stroke, a penalty shot or a corner stroke. If the ball has left the field along the sidelines, the referee must decide which team touched the ball last, and award a restart stroke to the opposing team, just like football's throw-in.

The rules do not specify any player positions other than goalkeeper, but a number of player specialisations have evolved. ...

Hi everyone,

I'm very shocked with the news about Agassi.

I'm a very big fan of him and such a confession is certainly surprising. Among tennis players doping is considered such a wrong practice that I find it hard to believe that he's actually ruining he's reputation after such a successful career. I used to be an aspiring tennis player and he was an icon to me and most of the players my age.

What's even more surprising to me is the alternate hypothesis that's being rumored which states that all of this is just meant to generate fuzz around his (soon to be published?) autobiography. That would be even more shocking, I mean, is it worth to wreck your public image?

Some might say no publicity is bad publicity, but I can't help thinking they're wrong, at least when it comes to this particular case.

Basketball is, in my opinion, ONE of the best sports ever invented! I especially love street basketball! Hot Sauce FTW! Seriously, the way the move the ball and all the tricks they invent, damn they got some skillz! I also , kinda, invented some of my own tricks, i don't know if they will work on people in a basketball game though. =] i'm still sort of noob though but gonna keep practicin and get pro! I also love NBA! Allen iverson and KObe Bryant are a couple of my favourite players!

LeBron in 10 minutes today I saw him nail three 3 pointers in a row and just dish out everyone that came close to him.

Australia won a one-day series 4-2 on their previous visit two years ago.
Australian skipper Ricky Ponting has said that the hosts (India) are a difficult side to beat at home.
As for Indians, batsman Yuvraj Singh, who missed the Champions Trophy with a broken finger, was named in the 15-player squad with the hope that he would be fit to start the seven-match series.
Indian will also miss pacer Zaheer Khan.

I'm surprised not many players moved teams. I especially thought that star pitcher Roy Halladay of the Toronto Blue Jays would be traded.

Jake Peavy went from the San Diego Padres to the Chicago White Sox.

Victor Martinez was traded from the Cleveland Indians to the Boston Red Sox.

Scott Rollen was traded from the Toronto Blue Jays up the the Cincinnati Reds.

The Cleveland Indians traded their star pitcher Cliff Lee to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Jarrod Washburn went from the Seattle Mariners to the Detriot Tigers.

Orlando Cabrera was dealt from Oakland Athletics to the Minnesota Twins.

NFL Football is right around the corner. Where do you think your team will be come January and why?
I'll kick it off with my team, the Buffalo Bills. I think they have a good chance of making it to the playoffs this year for a few reasons. One off course is the recent edition of Terrell Owens and the depth at the corner position now that is going to make their defense about 10% better. Some key defensive players are coming off injuries and the offense is going back to the famous K-Gun once again. Expect a run and shoot in every game, kind of like the 90's Bills. This is what football is all about, Patriots VS Bills should, 1st game, should be an exciting one to watch.

It is mathematically possible for Hamilton to retain his title.... but as a Brit I'm more hopeful that he'll take a ton of points from Vettel and Webber, making it easier for Button to hold onto his lead.

Two days to go.... England in a very strong position... (Australia need to score 546 to win the match, England need 10 wickets).

So, a draw is very unlikely as the weather is forecast to be good.

After 20 overs, Australia have made a good start, and got to 80-0.... Can they break all the records, and retain the Ashes.... or will England be celebrating....

I'm hopefully for England... but we need a few wickets to regain the confidence..
