Software : Bookmark icons

I think I am asking a software question, but I am not sure. I recently added an administrator profile to my laptop. I had to restore all my Firefox 3.0 preferences from FEBE to be the same as those on my regular profile. When FEBE restored all my bookmarks and addons including Smart Bookmarks Bar the icons in the Bookmarks toolbar disappeared. Is there an option that I need to check, a file that I need to find/copy or something else that I need to do in order to get the icons to show in the bookmarks toolbar?

Hi guys,

Am thinking of buying a PC TV Tuner with DVB-T support so I can watch Freeview (UK) channels on my computer...anyone had any experiences with them?

Care to advice which cards i should buy?

Currently I'm thinking of buying the Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T USB2 and probably configuring it to use GBPVR for playback, etc.

Anyone using the GBPVR software?

Was looking through slashdot.org at work earlier today and happen to run upon this article: http://dotnetperls.com/Content/Browser-Memory.aspx

Pretty interesting reads as it compares well known browsers such as Safari 3.1, FireFox 3, Flock, Opera 9.5 and IE 8 Beta 1.

Here's a little excerpt from the article:

I didn't find any post about most used Firefox add ons. I want to know, which add ons do you use, which of them are most useful ones in web developing, etc.

Personally I use Vimperator, for my look and feel, mostly feel. NoScript to disable all JavaScript by default. Adblock plus to remove, surprise surprise, ads. Foxmarks to synchronize my bookmarks on different computers.

For web developing, I use two add ons, firebug and Web Developer toolbar. Use most firebug, because it is familiar to me, but I saw few interesting matter.

Yo!!!

For the people involved in audio mixing & stuff (on PC)... I need your help.
It's possible for me to have a show on an internet radio...
I intend that my one hour show to have some interviews, people to have the opportunity to "call" and talk.
I have 2 PCs, Skype, Messenger.

Now, there is a way to "mix" this Skype calls with some audio and air it?
How do I do that using ONE PC? Do I really need TWO?

I don't know anything in the internet radio business, but I had a small show on a local radio... I know that my fellows used Mixer, special studio, etc... what is the equivalent for PC web radios?

It is easy to find software for capturing a computer screen, as a snapshot.

I`ve seen tutorials that are like motion video capture of the screen (with and without audio). I believe those tutorials were made with such a software, which would be the perfect tool for that. Does anybody know any software that does that in a Mac OS X environment? Freeware would be most appreciated, but payed options will also be considered.

Our family's going to be formatting our drive soon because windows is suffering from major bit rot, and I wanted to save all the information, which includes the actual game save files and also the save states. Using Project64 and ZSNES, I think that i only need to copy the actual roms and the folders that say "saves" or whatever, but do i have to do anything else?

I DO NOT want any replies saying things like "omfg, emulators are illegal", as they are perfectly legal.

I was wondering is there any software that can detect any command send by a software to the system and the respond send by the system to the software. Maybe this might confusing. okay, like this, let say i have software xx, then is there any software (aa) that can do like this:

i launch software xx, then software xx runs, then the "software aa" detect the command send by the software xx to the system. and then when the system respond and send back the command to software xx, then software aa also detect the command, then software aa log all the process to text files.

I've been checking out a few programs recently so I've been doing a lot of installing and uninstalling. I've downloaded revo uninstall so as to make sure programs are totally uninstalled. I've checked out some disk cleaners and reg cleaners and I've had loads of problems including losing all of windows help and support files. Ccleaner brought up warnings for windows and dr. watson. Another crashed my laptop.

I could do with advise on free disk and reg cleaners. My laptop is slow. I know part of it is because I've installed quite a few neccessary programs, but I'm sure part of it is because it needs a bit of "housework" done.

I recently migrated my email from MS Outlook Express to MS Outlook 2003 using RDP over HTTP. back on the outlook express, i configured it in such a way that it will ask you to enter the profile password before it would open the MS Outlook Express.. Now, I want to do the same with MS Outlook 2003 but I don't know how to configure it.

I recently downloaded and installed the Vista Icon Pack (VIP) v3. Yay, I had my fun, and now I want to get rid of it. When I go through the uninstalling process, at the end it says Uninstalling Complete, and tells me to restart my PC. I restart my PC, yet all the icons are there, the whole VIP v3 is still in my start menu, and it's as if nothing happened. There is no folder for the program in Program Files, and it does not appear in the Add/Remove Programs list (I think because it changes system files); any solutions?

currently i'm using IE8 beta and firefox 3.0 beta. so far, i still use firefox a lot. maybe i too often use firefox but currently what i found was firefox had problem during startup. it will had close error and if not mistaken, it had memory problem. so far, the things i like firefox 3 is that it has a save and quit option when you quit firefox. and 1 thing i do not like is i had 1 extended monitor and i did try on that monitor. but since then, everytimes i open firefox, it will keep staying on that monitor, even i already move back to my main monitor.

for IE8, so far it has 1 new features, which is activities button on highlight on a word. you can highlight a word and then click on the activities button and search on what activities you want, let say is search trough google, translate it in Windows live, define in encarta and more. but 1 thing is that it has too few options for me to add. maybe it still new, so not much they add in. ...

You may have purchased many songs from iTunes online store. It will be ok if you just play it on your computers with iTunes, or on your iPod. However, you may need to insert the music in a Power Point presentation, listen it on your mp3 player or set it as background music of your website or other legal personal usage, and you will find you are not allowed.
All the iTunes music files are m4p format, it's restricted. Is there any way to remove this DRM protection and convert the iTunes songs to widely used mp3 files?
There are some ways that can achieve your goal.
(1) In iTunes, these DRM protected songs can't be burned to mp3 CD disc, however, you can burn them to audio CD, and then use an audio ripper to rip the tracks from the CD. It may be a waste of CD discs when you have plenty of songs which need to be converted.

(2) Use the program named Noteburner. It has won the award of top DRM removing tool and the third place of audio converter by Top Ten Reviews, please refer to http://audio-converter-software-review.toptenreviews.com/. Noteburner will install a virtual CD burner on your computer, what you need to do is just to set it as default CD burner in iTunes. Open iTunes, operate by Edit --> Preference --> Advanced --> burning, and set Noteburn Virtual CD_RW as your CD burner. If you want to preserve the tags information, including artist, song title, album name, track number etc, you need to check the option include CD text. Not only m4p files can be converted, but also audio book in m4p format or AA format can be converted to mp3 in iTunes with Noteburner virtual CD burner.
So you can finish all the jobs as the first method within this software and save many CD discs.

Noteburner can also remove the DRM protection of wma audio files. ...
