Voddler - The Spotify of movies

Software : Voddler - The Spotify of movies

Have you guys heard about Spotify? The swedish company that offers you a huuuuge database of pretty much all music there is, for you to stream for free, in exchange for like 30 secs of commercials after every 6 songs or so?

Now Voddler is here, also swedish (ofcourse ) and it offers the same service, but for movies and tv-shows! It is still in beta testing mode, so it is not 100% functional, and their assortment of movies isn't yet what it is supposed to be (although they have hundreds of movies) and it is also really hard to get invites...

But it looks promising, their regular streaming quality is equivalent to DVD, and they are also gonna offer HD-streaming! Kicks ass!

Of course I have an invite

Stats : 1 Post

Microsoft Office 2010

Software : Microsoft Office 2010

Has anyone tried/used it? The beta is my main office suite right now. I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far; much better UI integration with Windows 7 than Office 2007 had, and I've also noticed that Word (and probably other apps too) launch a lot quicker.

Stats : 15 Replies

Audio player that pauses after each track required

Software : Audio player that pauses after each track required

A friend of mine is a singer who uses backing tracks on CDs. That means she only has a short, fixed time in between tracks and so cannot interact with the audience.

What I want to do is to get all her tracks onto a laptop with software that can use playlists and pause after each track, waiting for her to tell it to continue (maybe using Enter or a mouse click). All the audio players I've seen would need her to stop the playlist manually if she wants to interact with the crowd & then re-start. Although that's only 1 extra click, it means she has to be in the right place at the right time to pause the playlist thus reducing her freedom to move around the stage and engage with the audience.

Does anyone know of a player that can do this? I don't mind paying for the right software.

Stats : 1 Post

Software : YouTube Clips

Can someone suggest a way to capture YouTube streaming clips on one's PC, and then convert these to local files that one can play on demand using e.g. Windows Media Payer?

Sometimes I'd like to save a YouTube clip because one never knows when YouTube will remove the clip from their server.

I don't think this would be illegal.

Firefox not downloading files

Software : Firefox not downloading files

I am currently unable to download files in my firefox browser in general. The only way that I can download is to use the IE Tab file extension to convert a Firefox tab into an embedded Internet Explorer tab. This seems to fool the browser. Places where I have had the problem include downloading files in regular Firefox tabs from flickr.com and downloading the latest update for my Adobe Flash Player. These examples all worked flawlessly in the embedded tab with the IE Tab file extension.

Stats : 4 Replies

Software : VirtualBox

So yeah, apparently Sun makes a freeware (with an open source core, even) virtualization system called VirtualBox that has all the features of VMware Workstation (including nice guest/host integration and fancy stuff like USB emulation and 3D virtualization), but is 100% free for all non-commercial use. Does anyone here use it, or am I the first?

Stats : 18 Replies

Software : Software to create line endings?

Does anyone know about software that one can use to create line art .... not with artwork, but the software having options for the line endings, and manipulating the lines? For example I sometimes would like to cut off the line end diagonally, but have to use triangles, etc. the difficult way. I would like software so that I can create lines as I would like them to appear, also when the lines do appear, such as being able to manipulate the line with a rotating tool, I want to be able to stretch the line in any direction.

Stats : 3 Replies

Software : iTunes 9.0

Hello!

Just a a short note, Apple released their newest version of iTunes, 9.0, yesterday as well as an update to the iPhone and iPod software, which is offered free to those already running version 3.0.

You may download iTunes here:
http://www.apple.com/itunes

I think the update is pretty good, (finally) it seems faster

Stats : 16 Replies

Firefox cannot identify mime/filetype

Software : Firefox cannot identify mime/filetype

When accessing PDF files from my university intranet with Firefox, there is no option to view with the document viewer / evince. There is only an option to save the file. However when using Firefox under windows there are options to view with adobe reader, save, etc. This only happens in that particular site, so PDFs in other sites have open with option.

Why does this happen? I tried looking for the options but cannot find it. The weird thing is it only happens in one website and not the others. I also tried to disable all extensions, to no avail.

Stats : 4 Replies

Software : How to do video marketing?

Hello everyone, I am running a small blog. Sometime I will use videos to show my service or show a popular movie to attract the visitors. Recently when I am strolling in other forums I saw some posts talking about video market.

So what is video marketing exactly in your option? What will you do with your videos in your sites? Use video as ads? Or just for fun? What will you do with your video to get more attentions? Use a special player or add some special effects?

I think it is an interesting topic, so tell us your idea and the tools you will use. ...

Stats : 2 Replies

Software : Opera 10 Beta

Short note for all browser-freaks like me, you can now download
Opera 10 Beta
from here:
http://www.opera.com/browser/next/

I have not yet tested it as I install alpha and beta browsers only on a seperate system (running Win 7 hehe), but reviews so far are great. Go, download it and have a look

Good video editor and converter , Flash Video MX upgraded

Software : Good video editor and converter , Flash Video MX upgraded

Hi, I want to suggest you a really good video converter. I have used it for years and now the software upgraded its bottom codes. It supports importing more video formats now, even FLV format. I am running a blog which use this software to edit and convert my videos and use it to add a player and a preloader on my video. Anyway you can see more details from the following news.

“Complete Solution for Web Video and Player with Moyea Flash Video MX Pro 6.0

Moyea Software introduced Moyea Flash Video MX Pro 6.0 on October 16, 2009 with the solutions to convert videos to Flash, create player with custom skin, publish video on web page, and control player with Flash variables via HTML code. Moyea Flash Video MX Pro 6.0 includes more settings like filter effect, and encoding profile saving, FLV and F4V importing.

Moyea Flash Video MX Pro 6.0 initiates solutions to include player creating function together with the video conversion in quick mode. Compared to the older versions of Moyea Flash Video MX Pro and other products with web video solution, Moyea Flash Video MX Pro 6.0 not only includes preset players for selection on web page, but also provides option to users to design their own player with custom image.

You can even control the Flash players generated by Moyea Flash Video MX Pro 6.0 with the open player API. For example, you can set the player to load video automatically but only to play video when the play button is clicked, or set the player to play video automatically with progressive download when enough data is buffered.

Moyea Flash Video MX Pro 6.0 now supports FLV and F4V videos with H.264 as video codec as input and output.

Software : Outlook 2003 - Calendar

We have a number of users on our MS Exchange 2003 system. What I'm looking to do is to give access to our bosses calendars to a new admin staff we have. In other words, when they click on Calendar in Outlook 2003 (the Calendar bar), I want them to be listed under the "Other Calendars" option. I can do this for a public folder calendar ok, but how do I do it for other mailbox calendars?

Stats : 2 Replies

Software : .zip password finder

I'm just curious, does anyone know of a good zip file opener? I got a few files here that are pretty old but I can't seem to find any programs that can find the password. I know linux has a package you can get to do it but I'm trying to find something that works on windows. Unfortunately when it comes to something like this it seems like the all the programs out there are mostly spyware.

Stats : 2 Replies

Can encode Flash videos by Flash, Flash 8 with Alpha.
Can generate MP4 files that playable by Flash Player!
Convert videos in all formats to FLV.

Can sequence several videos into one FLV file.

Picture grabber Object & FLV to SWF Object.

Thumbnail pictures available with no conversion.

Can assign the process to a specific processor in a multi-processor operation system.

Under interactive mode.
Favorite Visual Studio Tool

Software : Favorite Visual Studio Tool

What's your favorite Visual Studio Application?

Quote:

Microsoft Visual Studio is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) from Microsoft. It can be used to develop console and graphical user interface applications along with Windows Forms applications, web sites, web applications, and web services in both native code together with managed code for all platforms supported by Microsoft Windows, Windows Mobile, Windows CE, .NET Framework, .NET Compact Framework and Microsoft Silverlight.
Visual Studio includes a code editor supporting IntelliSense as well as code refactoring. The integrated debugger works both as a source-level debugger and a machine-level debugger. Other built-in tools include a forms designer for building GUI applications, web designer, class designer, and database schema designer. It allows plug-ins to be added that enhance the functionality at almost every level - including adding support for source control systems (like Subversion and Visual SourceSafe) to adding new toolsets like editors and visual designers for domain-specific languages or toolsets for other aspects of the software development lifecycle (like the Team Foundation Server client: Team Explorer).
Visual Studio supports languages by means of language services, which allow any programming language to be supported (to varying degrees) by the code editor and debugger, provided a language-specific service has been authored. Built-in languages include C/C++ (via Visual C++), VB.NET (via Visual Basic .NET), and C# (via Visual C#). Support for other languages such as Chrome, F#, Python, and Ruby among others has been made available via language services which are to be installed separately. It also supports XML/XSLT, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript and CSS. Language-specific versions of Visual Studio also exist which provide more limited language services to the user. These individual packages are called Microsoft Visual Basic, Visual J#, Visual C#, and Visual C++.
Currently, Visual Studio 2008 and 2005 Professional Editions, along with language-specific versions (Visual Basic, C++, C#, J#) of Visual Studio 2005 are available for free to students as downloads via Microsoft's DreamSpark program. ...

...

Stats : 3 Replies

Software : So, what anti virus protection do you use?

I've had Norton for years but they're starting to **** me off. My subscription has expired but I notice when I click on renew it takes me to their website and a renewal costs $39.99. But if I simply do a search for antivirus programs, I can download the entire new 2009 Norton antivirus for ten bucks less. Why are these people trying to gouge existing customers and not new customers? It ****es me off. It's just enough for me to never use Norton again.

So what antivirus do you use and why?

Stats : 39 Replies

Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium as OEM Download

Software : Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium as OEM Download

I recently purchased Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium as OEM and wow, was that an awful experience when I actually tried to install it. Web Premium includes Adobe Flash CS3 Professional, Dreamweaver CS3, Fireworks CS3, Contribute CS3, Photoshop CS3 Extended, Illustrator CS3, and Acrobat 8.

It was a humungous bundle of almost 2GB to download, which I could manage, but the actual installation did not work out well at all, as well as caused some of my existing software to conflict. In the end I de-installed everything and have not tried it again ... that obviously turned into a huge waste, as I actually paid for the OEM download.

Has anyone else tried this Bundle, and what have your experiences been?

Stats : 3 Replies

Software : Adobe 9.0 problems

I have been having a lot of problems with Adobe Reader 9.0. In February, when I prepared my income tax returns for 2008 for the Internal Revenue Service using forms from their own web site, I encountered problems with some prior year forms and was unable to enter data in those them on Reader 9.0. I actually had to switch to my 2003 laptop, which still has Reader 8.0 installed to perform data entry on my tax forms.

Now, I have been trying to use the Illinois State tax forms and have been able to enter the data in the 2008 forms. However, I am unable to print them from my 2007 Laptop, which is a Hewlett Packard Pavilion DV9000T with Vista Home Premium to my old October 2005 Brother MFC 4200 CN printer, for some reason. The printer driver does not seem to be recognizing the .pdf file type. This seems odd because reader is a software program that is suppose to be universal.

Stats : 12 Replies

Software : iTunes Music Library

My Hewlett Packard Pavilion DV9000T is equipped with two 120 GB external hard drives. I use one as a system drive and one as the data drive. I keep my iTunes library on my data drive so that when the system crashes and my hard drive needs to be reformated or restored I don't lose any files. However, I seem to be unable to configure my iTunes so that my iTunes Music Library.xml and iTunes Library.xml files are on my data drive. Is there any way to configure iTunes to store these files on my data drive?

Stats : 3 Replies
