Ever played it? It's a great timewaster, and loads of fun. It's really interesting to see what other people draw, laugh at them, and then screw it up when it's your turn.

The idea is that a group of people (no more than 10) take it in turns to draw something using an MS Paint-like utility. Then everyone else tries to guess what it is. The guessers get 10 points if they get it right, -1 for everyone who guessed it before them (so the first person would get 10, the second would get 9, and so on). The drawer gets 10 points if someone else guesses their drawing, +1 for each extra person to guess it beyond the first, -2 for each hint that they have to give. 10 rounds and the winner is decided.

It's great fun, so if you haven't tried it then now's an excellent time to start. It requires the Adobe Shockwave Player plugin for your browser.

I have this thing about not finishing games, the ol' attention div class="detail" of a gnat thing tunes up and that's all she wrote. I'm talking about games I actually like on some level too. In general I play a given title for about a month or so, then interest wanes. I might come back to it a month or so later but typically that's just in passing.

Limiting myself to the PC and either Xbox for the sake of not delving

too

far into the past... games I recall finishing to completion would be;

Mafia (finished twice)
Call of Duty 4 (also finished twice once on PC and once on the 360)
Call of Duty (the original)
Crysis (once and a bit)
GTA San Andreas (but not the Vice City or the others)
SWAT4 (original single player "campaign")
Operation Flashpoint (original campaign)
Half-Life and Half-Life 2
Halo (but not Halo 2, and just now starting 3 and likely won't finish it)
Portal (love the song)

I know I'm forgetting some titles here, but likely not many and I've

started

a lot. Also, I've run through a lot of open ended games a fair amount, and while they don't get "finished" as such I've completed various maps in Civ4, SimCity and even played some people to death (literally) in the Sims 2. That said, I'd guess my "games started" to "games completed" ratio is something like 30:1 against.

Do you generally finish games to completion or just play until something else comes along, or until you lose interest?

And l was on Multi-Player, split into teams, and i got onto the tank and drove down the street, yelling " Im invincible" and my cusin shoots at me and i yelled im not invincible, at the time it was pretty funny.. i heard some other funny moments also, so post'm.

So the movie was awesome, but how about the game?

I am a big fan of the Marvel universe, and I really enjoyed the Spider-Man games and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but I haven't played Iron Man yet. Since I'm getting hitched soon, money is very tight and I was wondering if any of you guys have played the game and have any reviews or impressions to share with me?

Also, I will be playing it on Xbox 360 if at all.

I see sticky's for PS3 and Xbox360, but not alot of love for Nintendo or specifically the Wii.

I'm definately getting a Wii, and I don't actually know anyone whose choice isn't the Wii.
We've also had a 360 at our schools (game design at uni) "games room" since launch, but the most anyone ever played on that is a bit of Hexic, or whatever it's called. I think even the old Xbox has seen more action.

And as for hitting weakspots to deal massive damage? Well.. it's a bit been there, done that, dont'cha think?

I've been a gamer since my first Apple ][ (compatible! We had a Laser 128, before all the lawsuits started =-), and by now, sometimes I start to feel like maybe I'm getting too old for it. A lot of the people I'm exposed to in my day-to-day life -- friends, acquaintances, co-workers -- seem to look at gaming as a kids' hobby. I still love it, don't get me wrong -- and I think the "Mature" games like GTA and Bioshock back me up on this -- but sometimes I feel kind of alone. One of my co-workers is an occasional gamer, and my wife plays a mean Puzzle Fighter (but that's about it); other than that, I really don't talk to anybody else like me.

Is my situation unusual? Do most of you older dudes reading the Games board have to choose between gaming alone, or with people you only know from the Internet (who might well be half your age)? Or did I just somehow wind up in an anomalous "gamer black hole"?

does anyone play any of those really old classics like doom, doom 2, stunts, quake etc?
some of these games are still the most awesome around. stunts is my personal favourite.
so, do you still play any of these games or any others? what's the game called and why do you like it?
i like stunts because you can build your own tracks and the physics realism is actually fairly decent. note: to be classified as an old classic, the game must have been made for an OS released

before

windows NT.

I've been looking forward to Spore for ages now, and it seems that it's finally getting close.

says a trial version of the "Spore Creature Creator" will be released in June from Spore.com among other places. The idea is that the creator has 25% of the creature making bits from the full game, and give people a simple way to try it out and see how they like it before buying.

Sort of like a demo I suppose, but more like releasing the SimCreator for the Sims2 as a seperate download.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it.

Wikipedia has White Knight Story (now listed as White Knight Chronicles?) listed as "TBD 2008" for the release date, and IIRC it was talked up as one of the big platform movers back when the PS3 first came out. I got all pumped back then, but barely a word has been breathed on it since then. WTF? It looked so awesome, then *poof* it vanished from the face of the Earth.

Please excuse me if there's already a thread for this game. I searched but I didn't see anything on the forums.

The game I'm talking about is No More Heroes for the Nintendo Wii. It was just officially released in the USA on January 22, 2008. Anyone else heard of it or has played it? I'm interested in hearing other opinion on it.

Basically the premise of the game is your an assasin and you want to become the #1 ranked assasin in the US, so you obviously have to beat/eliminate the higher ranked assasins.

The fighting system is relatively easy to pickup and understand but it's still not an easy breezy game (especially the bosses near the end). When not fighting the ranked assasins, it has a very beat em up feel to the game. There's also a free mode, which kinda feels like GTA, where you can ride around town on your bike picking up jobs.

It's all done in 3D with cell-shaded textures and it has a very retro-gamer and overall japanese overtones in the game. At times it can seem to try to be artsy-fartsy, but I think overall it was done very well.

I just beat the game in about 10 hours but I had a ton of fun and there's a lot of comedy aspects to the game. I'm actually gonna play through the higher difficulties now because there's a lot of little things left to do.

Hello,

Im just wondering what people play games for, plot or action?

I'm not sure if i have chronic short attention div class="detail" or something but the only games i have ever finished was the first Harry Potter game and that took me a month and that was for the story (ended up reading the book) and Halo 1 for the action which took me something like 5 months on easy.

Right now, i'm trying to play Oblivion but is getting very weary... maybe its cos i'm playing for the visuals...

So yeah what do u guys play games for?

Hey all.

I bought this game a couple years back when it first was released. I waited a long time before writing this review simply because Dragonshard is a difficult game to take in. I've been playing real time strategy since the original Warcraft, so I went into this game with a lot of expectations. At first, I was very frustrated. After a little while I was amused. At last, I was blown away.

This game is really well thought out. There's a lot of attention to minute details that add to the experience immeasurably. Many other reviewers have mentioned the resistances, the strategy, etc... but very few of them have talked about the pace of the game.

Unlike the Warcraft and Command & Conquer series, Dragonshard doesn't allow you to create a group of peasants/harvesters and set them to the task of gathering resources. Instead, you have to build up a small army of characters who, basically, adventure for gold. ...
