I've read from somewhere (but not sure) that the length of title tag should not more than 2 to 3 times of keywords in itself. For instance, if the keywords is "online money" then the total words of title tag should not more than six words.

I have been asked to help with a site that is using some flash. Another issue with the site is that each page size is over 100K almost 175K. What do I need to be concered with as far SEO goes? Does Flash really have that much of a negitive effect on site SEO? There are still alot of HTML content and text. Please advise.

Hi everyone I wanted to know what you guys/girls use as the maximum limit for the amount of characters in your Description tag of a page? Some meta tag analysis tools say 250 characters others say 200 characters while I just read in the seomoz.org SEO Web Developer Cheat Sheet that the maximum is 155 characters!

So what do you use as your limit cause I was reworking my Meta tags to improve them but I don't want to have to much text and then have a negative effect on my ranking. Btw as a second question, how bad is it to have extra characters in any of the tags description, keywords or title?

I am just finishing an SEO job for one of our main clients.

I instructed our designer to use basic html for all the important pages I have optimised for, the core and long tail phrases.

He has just shown me the finished site, all the pages are php even the ones I specifically asked to be HTML.

Q: does Google and the like index and rank php pages the same as HTML or will I have to get the designer to redo the main pages as basic HTML?

Everyone's thoughts, opinions, and experiences are much appreciated.

Hi,

The first website I made about 8 months ago took ages to get indexed by the search engines,

But lately, my websites have been getting indexed much quicker. For example, I registered DomainingGuide.Info on 19 May and spent about 24 hours setting it up. I signed up for Google webmaster tools on 21 May and found that all pages on my site had already been indexed by Google.

Is Google indexing sites faster now, or am I doing something better?

Have you experienced anything like this?

I have a website here in Australia promoting a radio program I do. The site started about 3 years ago, and was found by Google (what I would consider to be the most important search engine rating). It was on the 7th-8th page at that time for a search of the name of the site. Two weeks ago, it was in 3rd place.

There is an insurance company with a similar URL, but with a different suffix. They setup their domain name to redirect to our site, without our permisison. Initially I thought this was a good thing. Google re-crawled the site and had us at number 3, but with their domain name as the URL. Once this happened, they changed the redirect so the domain went to their actual site, so when people clicked on our listing, it went to their site. Google has since crawled again, and now our site has been removed completely from Google, and their site has taken the number 3 spot. Since then, there has been a dramatic fall in the number of hits to our site, and, it is one of the only marketing methods we have.

Do you think Google will recrawl our site and put us back in 3rd, or have we lost our position for a long time? ...

k guys, I made three tutorials, one was about how to make a sitemap.xml, one was about sitemapindex file and one was robots.txt All these tutorials to inform the SE and get crwaled ina shorter time and better.

Now we are gonna learn, after making our robots.txt and sitemap.xml how can we get searched by google? First of all, Google or other search engines, crwal your site, even if you don't do anything, but this may take some time, sometimes a month. Here we will try to invite the search bots to search our site in a shorter time, in a better way for more results from our site, and shorter time so it can crawl more.

There are few ways to inform search engines about your sitemap file. We will start from the easiest one.

I recommend you to insert a line in your "robots.txt" that where your sitemap.xml file is ( or if you gzipped it, where your sitemap.gz ,, or how da hell you named it). Just a simple line like this

sitemap: http://frihost.com/sitemap.xml

2 -

Second way is to send an

request. This one is easy too. What we gonna do is step by step, go to your web browser's address bar, write the search engine's URL first, then "

/ping?sitemap=http://www.frihost.com/sitemap.xml

" , tho we need to encode this in UTF-8, so it will look like this "

Here is an example, let's say we want to send Google Bot a request and we want to inform it about our sitemap, we must type this into the web browser address bar => "

for yahoo for example, we have to type

http://search.yahoo.com

, or for ask we have to write the true search URL. Be careful. ...

Hi everyone, I've developed a SEO tool recently, so if you could tell me your opinion on it it would be great!

At the moment of writing it works for google, yahoo and ask, but I'm now adding more search engines to the list
