the usage of 'be able to'

takashiro
I wonder whether 'Able to' can be used as adverbial, for example,
Able to be here, i'm happy.

Any English-speaker can tell me?

That is an acceptable usage, though you've reversed the sentence.
It would be more natural as:
"I'm happy that I'm able to be here."
or
"I'm happy because I'm able to be here."

Thanks a lot. I wrote such a sentence in my article and my English teacher said it was Chinglish(Chinese English). I will avoid writing it since it's not used very often.
By the way, is it natural that other adjectives are used as adverbial?

As far I know, it isn't. Except for poems: "Pleased is my heart, whenever your smile shines towards me."

It does not sound good.

Maybe
"Being able to be here, I'm happy" is more correct.
