Does anyone have any web comics to recommend?
Personally I really enjoy Nothing Nice to Say and Mitch Clem's other strips, Urf and See Mike Draw are also really good. XKCD has to be my favourite at the moment though - really funny, touching, surreal and generally awesome (also loads of updates).
Would be really interested in other people's recommendations....
does the weekly issues of heroes graphic novel count?
I'm addicted to graphic novels. Here's two that I like.
Freakangels - really cool post-apocalyptic steampunk online graphic novel. Also available in print. Great story, beautiful artwork. Updated every Friday.
The Phoenix Requiem - a Victorian-inspired supernatural fantasy story. Contains some horror and violence. Updated on Mondays and Thursdays.
With my recent unemployment I have found many a wonderful webcomic while wasting my day stumbling through the internet.

8-Bit Theater
nice
Wow, thanks folks. That gives me loads to check out (and waste plenty of time when I really should be being more constructive!).
Would be good if people keep putting up recommendations. In the past I have only really seen the funny 'strip style' comics, I'm really impressed though with some of the more 'graphic novel' style pieces that have been recommended, particularly in the quality of work that can be viewed for free...
Oops, found some more! Prepare to waste hours of your life! (Can you tell I have an exceedingly dull customer service job?)
Crimson Dark - good solid science fiction

Girl Genius - Adventure, Romance, Mad Science! and a good bit of humor.
http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20021104
Crowfeathers - a Wild West fairy tale

A lot of these graphic novels are available in print; if I wasn't so poor I would buy them voraciously.

Is XKCD sh*tty today?
You guys really need to read Rice Boy, minus, Slackerz, Anything by KC Green, Kate Beaton, Three Panel Soul, Perry Bible Fellowship, the hit internet phenomenon that everybody is talking about Blaha Zobler, and this thread.
Woo hoo! Even more mind-rotting goodness!

I warn you though that 8 Bit Theatre and Control-Alt-Delete have some serious history behind them. Going through all of the archives will kill many hours for you.
Since xckd was already mentioned, I'd like to add Applegeeks, Dominic Deegan and My Extralife. For german-speaking readers (german-reading speakers?), I recommend Der Flix, Nichtlustig and Ruthe[/url|

Aren't we posting on a forum for a free hosting service?
Looking For Group is a pretty good one.

I also read SNAFU comics and VGCats.

Way to link the three worst webcomics in the history of the internet.
I haven't read 8-bit Theatre or Ctrl-Alt-Delete, but I think XKCD is pretty funny most of the time. You know, when I can actually understand it.
its its not posted yet, I suggset reading order of the stick, hilarious and if your a DND or table top player then you'd definitely love it
I enjoy Slackerz, Penny Racers, Ctrl-Alt-Del, Sam and Fuzzy, Cordeval, 8-Bit Theater, Shades of gray, Dominic-Deegan, VgCats, and Looking for Group. There's a few more which I read, yet I try my best to keep up with those first...

Reading Rice Boy now. It's very peculiar, and I'm quite enjoying it. I also like the fact that the story is actually already complete before I got to it, so I can just read it and be done, without having to wait a week, and have back up and re-read until I remember what the heck is going on before I read the new pages.
This has become a constant problem for me, because I'm addicted to about a dozen different online graphic novels now!
Highly recommended indeed. Loving the art style, intriguing story, and regular updates (3 pages a week). Wasted a good two afternoons catching up to the story so far, and I'm not regretting it a single bit.
At the moment, I have 18 webcomics I read as they update, and another 14 I'm part of the way through reading the archives for, LOL. And speaking as someone who understands approximately 85% of XKCD's jokes, it is awesome. Erfworld and A Softer World probably come in as my next favourites ... Ctrl-Alt-Del, Penny Arcade and the like are overrated cookie cutter humour, although I still don't mind the occasional stupid laugh via 8-bit Theatre.
darklegacycomics.com
for all wow players out there
and oot, order of the stick too, for dnd fans, crazy web comic for your boring/free time at the office xd
I second Vgcats.com, since it is really good, but anothe is Allan http://www.allancomic.com/
which is updated almost everyday. the artwork is not super awesome, but it is still something to read/ look at.
