Technique to prevent virus infection in win32

Here's a technique to prevent viruses from pen drive in win32. This only works if your computer is virus free.

First of all, in folder options, uncheck 'Hide System files" and "Hide extension for known file types" and select "Show hidden files and folders". Then goto c:\.There you should see some new folders like "System volume information" and "Recycler". Then when you insert the pen drive of any other friends, don't open directly by clicking in the icon but first cancel the autorun and goto run and input the drive of the pendrive. If the pen drive is infected, you should see a blurred icon of the executable. That means that the file is a syatem file. Virus file are system files. Delete it and delete the autorun.inf file. If there are folders with .exe extention delete them also. Then the pen drive is virus free

...unless of course the virus is not a system file. Really this is just a toothpick in the door method. Anyone who wanted to tamper with it would just infect a word file with a virus or something. There is no substitute for safe hex, and frequent virus scans.

What would you do for the viruses that make executable folders like new folder.exe, e.t.c?
