UK Co2 emissions tax

I'm trying to find some way of finding out the emissions for an older Mercedes Sprinter. It's easy to find details of cars, but commercial vehicle seem to be impossible!
I'm looking to but a used 311 of 312 but would like to know how much road tax I'm likely to pay. For vehicles registered before 1 March 2001, its a fixed rate of £185, but anything after that, the road tax is based on Co2 emissions, the data for which (apart from current models) is very elusive.

I think that the Mercedes Sprinter is the same as the Dodge Sprinter. Maybe knowing that will give you a few more sources to check up on. FYI, trucks over a certain weight don't get EPA ratings, so that could complicate things if you start to look at sites for American cars.

You are correct Gagnar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_Sprinter. I'll follow that up.

Thanks

Just as a follow up to my search, I have have found that the new laws on Road fund licence do not apply to commercial vehicles. I could have a large SUV and the tax would be £400 but my 2800cc long wheelbase van will only be £200 next April, when the new laws come into force.

Does this mean that people with be doing the school run in Ford Transits, as opposed to Range Rovers?
