A few old scooters at the Bridlington scooter rally

Stripey George rolled back the years, and forgot all about his woes on the ride there....even clocking an amazing 95 on the motorway (sadly, it's a km/h clock :Smile )...but he was on form!
Coming back, into the teeth of a mother of all head-winds, he was different again though, getting nicely up to 40-45(mph) then struggling with the dodgy carburation....still problems to solve then!

At Scooterstu's for the meet up

Arrived in one piece

Always loved this GS....

Fred was there Very Happy

This fella obviously has no taste...I mean, what kind of a square would put a purple helmet Surprised with a turquoise scooter? :Smile

Chrome, chrome & more chrome

Xenia1's spot-on TV1

Lucky13 was there, all coked up!

Nik FB Skeat gatercrashes a perfectly good photo!

LateAgain Paul had a great spot right outside the Spa doors...perhaps he got there early?

So long as no old Vespas are harmed during the making of these, I actually quite like 'em...

There were some cool scooters there, but this one:

Is simply ridiculous. It just shouts "I want attention, but I have bad taste and no sense of moderation!"

This Lambretta belongs to a friend of mine....it's done (I'm assuming you're from overseas & not aware of our "Mod" Culture?) in the 60's Mod style....back in the day it was very cool to deck your scooter out in a peacock way, saying "look at me".
It became a case of whoever had most lights/mirrors were cooler than the rest.
Silly when you look at it now, but then it was all important in the culture of it all.

That's a Series 2 Lambretta & Bambini sidecar....from around 1960. It's in beautiful condition for some thing almost 50 years old!

Call at your local newsagent's shop & order a copy of "Scootering International" magazine....loads of good stuff in there anyway, but always hundreds of scooters for sale too !
leosthenerd
Sweet man, thanks! I'll definitely look into it. I am from over seas unfortunately XD but I am aware of the retro styling, and I like it Wink

Ah, I see. Makes me glad to have a hobby where coolness is (mostly) determined by functional ability, which never goes out of style.

Interesting...what's your hobby?

Off-roading, aka 4 wheeling, aka 4x4, aka mudding, aka rock crawling...

There are some fashion trends with that, but no matter how 'out of style' you are, if you can get across difficult terrain better than the other guy, you're good.
wellerchap
We have some of that 4x4 here, but I'm a bit uncomfortable with it all as it doesn't do the landscape any good. I guess in the States you have loads of space, but here in the UK we're all very cramped...you have to try very hard to find anywhere in our country if you want to absolutely get away from everyone for peace & quiet, so the thought of revving motors razzing around secluded areas upsets me a bit.
Like I say though, you have the space, so good luck with it.
Gagnar The Unruly
Around where I live, most of the four-wheeling happens on logging roads, which minimizes the environmental impact. I agree that roads shouldn't be added in natural areas specifically for off-roading (at least around here, it's totally unnecessary), and that off-roaders shouldn't *really* go off road, because it can cause a lot of environmental damage.
leosthenerd
Thanks, I will Wink

hmm...I don't see too many people off-roading these days...
andysart380
im sorry i just laugh whenever i see these things.. i think they are cool and look like fun but i could never get so involved in it.
