phpmyadmin problem

hi all

i have 20 mb sql file.

in this file i have all tables and data.

i have exported it with phpmyadmin.

now

when i trying to import it with phpmyadmin

it shows me following error messages

You probably tried to upload too large file. Please refer to documentation for ways to workaround this limit.
";

where i have do the changes to solve this problem.

any ideas?

upload the files with ftp and then this script will make the sql statements execute on the mysql server in parts.

This is a old post, but here is a tip that might help. Just gzip the file. Since it is a text file, it will reduce to about 10% of original (in this case 2 MB approx). Then upload it. This way big databases can be uploaded.

NOTE: This technique does not help much if most of the data is binary data in blobs.

yeah that would help with uploading, but when executing it in phpmyadmin it would still bee too big. You'd really need that bigdump script for stuff like this.

Where you cannot log in, on frihost or on your local host? On Frihost phpmyadmin is open automatically when you are log in in your cPanel or DA (not 100% sure for DA). On your localhost, if you are not define different, in most situation username is root and password is empty.
