Skiping Frams in games on new tv/moniter

I just bought a 32" LCD HDTV and when playing games it says im gettinf 77 FPS but it keeps skipping frams how can i fix this my system is
Asus M2n SLI Deluxe
Evga 8800GT 512mb
AMD 64x2 6400+ 3.22 Ghz Processor
4Gb of ram

Most monitors cannot display 77 fps. HDTVs conform to the HDTV specs and standards (1080p/720p/etc). The problem is that because of that, the maximum refresh rate your display is likely to have is either 30 or 60 fps, depending on the maximum resolution. So the extra frames would just be getting skipped out by the the display. Try looking into your game or graphics card settings to see if it is possible to limit your frame rate, or you can just bump the settings up a little until you lower it a bit. If it is a 1080p display, it should/will run at 60fps.
