FBI raids Obama friend's home

jmi256
Another example of Obama's corruption and/or bad judgment. I can't believe the Democrats nominated this guy!

This just shows his friends (and by association he) is as corrupt as the next guy. Both major parties are just doing what they think will get them elected. We can all hope and pray that someone like Ron Paul will get elected, and we can revert the currently skewed system back to what it was intended.

From your title, it sounded like another political witch hunt by the FBI. Looking at the story, I see they've corrected it -- apparently they visited an office location in their investigation, but not his home.

I don't see any strong indication that there was any wrongdoing, although there surely may have been. Even if there was, I can't see why Obama should be considered responsible just because he didn't know his friend was corrupt. Before assuming anything about Obama, a lot more evidence is needed.

Another squeak from the right wing echo chamber! Cool. What's next, Obama's alien love baby?

No, no "alien love baby." Just another example of Obama choosing to associate with with criminals. Either he has bad judgment and/or is corrupt. Your call.

OMG Obama once knew someone who is getting investigated (not raided, by the way). Of course, Palin is getting investigated too in the Troopergate scandal, though she is somehow able to refuse to cooperate (after saying she would cooperate fully. I guess that is one of the "Bridge to Nowhere" type deals, totally reversing yourself and pretending nothing happened). If the fact that you (and the Moonie Times) are so excited that someone Obama knows is getting investigated, Troopergate must really bother you then, since it shows Palin's abuse of power in ugly personal vendettas? Trying to deny a guy's workers comp just because he is her sister's ex? Now that's ugly.

The thing with Obama is that it seems to be a pattern/habit of his to hang out with criminals and undesirables. Obama more than "once knew" these characters, but rather they are or were very close associates and advisors. The list goes on from Larry Walsh to Tony Rezko to "Rev" Wright to William Ayers (AKA Abu-Zayd) to Louis Farrakhan.
Quote:
Associations one chooses to initiate and/or maintain speaks to one’s character and judgment. For instance, Antoin Rezko – who is currently on trial for Corruption. Senator Obama has received a quarter of a million dollars from this individual, and has had to return it in ever increasing amounts, as the Senator was caught not truthfully disclosing the amount donated. Senator Obama also decided to participate in a real estate deal with Mr. Rezko during a time when he was proven to be under investigation. Despite this, The Senator made a deal to purchase a home, by dividing the property with the Rezko family. The property in question was divided, lot VS. House, because it was out of The Senator’s price range. And so was the down payment. Perhaps this is where Auchi comes in? Only the trial of Rezko can tell us. Continuing, once it was determined that the Senator could not afford the property, $300K was promptly removed from the asking price (in 2005, before mortgage problems drove down home prices). Rezko’s wife stepped in to buy the lot the Senator couldn’t afford, saving him $625,000. Another associate of Senator Obama’s is the founder of the Woods Fund, for which the Senator was its Director for 4 years, William (Abu-Zayd) Ayers. Abu-Zayd, or William Ayers as he was known then, was an American Terrorist who attempted to bomb the Pentagon. Next on our list would be Nadmi Auchi – Iraqi Billionaire swindler who helped himself to money from the Food Or Oil program and may have assisted the Senator is securing the money to put down on his Chicago mansion. Next we have Rashid Khalidi – former PLO spokesman and supporter of terrorism against Israel. Next we have the infamous Jeremiah Wright and James Meeks – rabid racists, anti-American preachers/community leaders, both have an affinity or a direct connection to the Nation of Islam. Speaking of the Nation of Islam, we next have Louis Farrakhan – renowned racist, anti-American, voracious Anti-Semite and homophobe – leader of the Nation of Islam. One would like to ask Senator Obama which of these individuals are the ‘clean’ ones?

"savagepolitics.com"? Another day, another wingnut website.

A few gems from their homepage:

The video above, from the National Republican Congressional Committee (click the name to go to their website), is a great start. As you can see, they are taking our lead in attacking Obama and the Democrats with the TRUTH about what/who caused the current mess that we are in."

Trailblazers jumping the shark, secretly influencing the National Committee.

In the spirit of keeping the pressure on the Democrats, for creating this ECONOMIC CRISIS, all thanks to their ideological obsession with SOCIALISM and SOCIAL ENGINEERING, we will continue to present different videos that clearly point the finger AT THEM for their corruption and culpability.

Just for the record in that very article it has an editors note

(Editor's note: The original version of this article has been corrected. The office of Larry D. Walsh was not raided.)

This conflicts with the title of this thread. I don't want to make a big deal about it but I think its worth it to make that clear. EDIT: I guess I didn't read the rest of the replies carefully enough. This has already been pointed out a few times. Sorry.

I don't think it says too much about Obama that his friend might have done something wrong but maybe he should be more careful about who he officially endorses.

Hey jmi256, I will ask again: if these invented charges against the Obamas bother you, Palin's Troopergate must really bother you then, since it shows Palin's abuse of power in ugly personal vendettas. Right?

Palin is getting investigated in the scandal, though she is somehow able to refuse to cooperate (after saying she would cooperate fully). Using your elected position and your staff in trying to deny a Trooper's workers comp just because he is your sister's ex and firing the top cop, a stand up guy, because he won't fire someone you want fired -- doesn't that bother you a little?
