how to get mov file to work on camera

ato784
I have a mov file and i can't seem to get it to play on my camera (i can record on my camera, but not put my own family videos on it) I had a video camera before this and wanted to put my vids from it on to my new camera. it is an easy share c875 and i can't get any of the files that i convert to play

here is one of the files that i made from my camera

The problem is, as far as I know, cameras don't play .mov files. If you'd want to play a clip it should be an .avi or and .mpeg or .mpeg2 files format.

Hope that helps. Wink

transfer the mov file recorded with your camera to your computer.

use mediainfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net) to check its' format (codec, frame rate, res, etc)

convert any media file on your computer to exactly the same format with what your camera can record.

now you should be able to play it on your camera.

Thanks for the suggestion, however i would prefer something that is freeware instead, do you know of any freeware that can do that?

Still looking for a converter anyone find one or know of one?

Total Video Converter though it is not free, but you can get a trial version for 30 days. Try it and if it works, you can pay for it. I've tried it and it rocks. It has a simple and user friendly interface and can convert media files according to specific devices by trade and model like Nokia N70 cell phone in 3gp format, iPod, PSP, etc.

A friend of mine told me about Any Video Converter Free but I never tried it. It is supposed to be a freeware but I'm not sure if the name means it is.

pirates rule, get a pirated copy for once and "buy" it if you intend to use it for more videos hehe

good luck. there are many many softwares out there that could do the job bt a freeware would be hard to find.

Thanks for the reconmendations!

However...I contacted my camera company and they said that it was impossible to have video put into my camera only out... Boo hoo! ... at least that is what the guy said.
