LINUX HELP! KDE4 and themes

KHO
I have been trying to install some new themes all morning now, using http://www.kde-look.org/ I downloaded a few cool looking themes, I am by no means good with linux at all. Just installed last night but I have had a few brushes with it before. I read some documentation on the themes and found that I needed to get deKorator installed and working. I got it installed on my suse 11 64bit box, but whenever I go to add the theme, it doesn't error out, but simply seems to accept that I added the theme and doesn't list it in the list of themes.

Basically I'm just looking for a little bit of starter help here, if someone could point me in the right direction that would be lovely. My OpenSuse 11.0 install with KDE 4.0.4 (KDE 4.0.4 >= 20080505) "release 15.1" has had less then a day of play time, so theres really not too many repos that are set up besides default, and hopefully I haven't screwed anything up yet >_>

Which Linux distro are you using?

This forum is primarily for Ubuntu, but has some good general tips & advice too.

It's there in the text!

I don't know much about KDE4, apart from the fact that it's not really stable yet, at least on Kubuntu. Never used OpenSuse myself.

Are you downloading KDE4 themes? Also, I believe KDE4 has got a integrated themes downloader to get new themes.
Right click-> desktop settings->desktop theme-> new theme
and get the theme you want.
Also, KDE4.1 is long since available, so please upgrade to it. it's much more stabler. Go to YAST, ti now has the ability to add repositories without manually searching and adding them. There's definitely the KDE repo too.

As far as I know, deKorator will not be or is not yet ported to KDE 4. Also, for KDE 4, you can install just the "Plasma Themes". I've tried this before in KDE 4.1 using KNewHotStuff (via the "Get New Themes" button, I don't know if that's the right label).
