How to safe your hardisk?
you must doing by step to safe your hardisk:
1.dont close your computer suddenly when your computer is running.You must close your computer step by step.
2.Dont alway move your computer.
3.alway disk clean up and disk defragmenter your computer.
4.Dont give any thing small that we cant see go inside your hardisk.
5.Dont alway format your computer.
This is the five step that i know to safe computer hardisk.

Thank for your experience!
Addition, we should install stronger anti-virus software because of directory entries destruction.
And, dont be curious of your hardisk inside.
Dont copy video files, music files many times.
...6. Do not close ventilating apertures in the case
7. Do not put 2 hard drives close one above another (will be heated more strongly)
Keep running the disk defragmenter every now and then.
Backup your data occasionally. cdrs are dirt cheap nowadays
install and use linux if possible instead of windows
create system restore points (XP)
Always shutdown before turning off
Stop that habbit of banging cpu box when comp hangs!

but thats the one that works best 
The Guradian Angel of every Hard DISK is SPINRITE.
Wonderfull software.It has been there for more than 15 years and is still the only one of it's kind.

thanks,heheu shld also save ur important doc on a separte drive nt ur c drive perhaps ur d drive so when ur computer crashes n u nid to reformat the com, ur doc would still be save
)Keep the thing Cool, If your harddisk becomes 10 degrees centigrade hotter, you are allowed to cut the expected lifetime in half.

I suppose cooling of the harddisk will increase it's lifespan by alot..so just provide sufficent ventilation or install a fan to blow over it will do just fine...

yes you are rite!
Todays harddisks are good!
both of mine get cooled by a 12 cm fan that blows air into the computer at the front, but it isn't necenserry!
Also a harddisk will still function if you turn of the power, it isn't good for them but nothing will happen, I also remove the power cable of my second harddisk when I'm cleaning my side panel or need to do something in my pc. DON'T do this with your first HDD, coz you are running you OS on it!
