Baseball Playoffs coming up!

GB
After a tumultuous start to the season, my team, the Dodgers looks to be (almost) playoff bound. Did your teams make it? Who are you rooting for in the playoffs? And how about those Rays! I'm proud to say I said at the beginning of the season, they would do pretty well, but had no idea they'd do THIS well.

My team did not make it (because they no longer exist.... boo hoo.... I miss the Montreal Expos)
My 2nd favourite team did not make it either, so I'm blu over the Toronto Blue Jays missing the playoffs for the 15 straight year.

I'm happy the Yankees are out of it again.

National League West : L.A. Dodgers
National League Central : Chicago Cubs
National League East: N.Y. Mets
National League Wild Card: Milwaukee Brewers???

American League West : L.A. Angels
American League Central : Chicago White Sox
American League East: Tampa Bay Devil Rays
American League Wild Card: Boston Red Sox

Cubs will win the NL. White Sox will win the AL. All Chicago world series!!!

Geez, ever since going off to college I kinda stopped keeping track of my Mets, but I looked today and somehow they've dropped off into second! Again...

At least they're in first place for the Wild Card, but those Brewers kinda need to back off a little before I'll feel safe.

Wow, the Expos actually had a fan, I went to a game there the year before they moved to Washington and there was like 7 thousand people there. They even won the game.

Well, my Red Sox made the playoffs so I am happy and the Yankees didn't make it so I am really happy.

My predictions:
NL West : L.A. Dodgers
NL Central : Chicago Cubs
NL East: Philadelphia Phillies
NL Wild Card: Milwaukee Brewers

Cubs over Dodgers
Cubs are just better than the Dodgers, they just hit to well for the Dodgers to score enough to keep them in the game, Billingsley is amazing and Lowe is good, but Harden and Dempster are just as good, so L.A. doesn't even have a pitching advantage.

Phillies over Brewers
These teams are, I feel, about equal. Their pitching is in about the same shape with Myers and Sheets both not doing so well. Sabathia and Hamels are solid. Then the rest are alright. The Brewers are running C.C. pretty hard to get into the playoffs and if he runs out of gas they are done. The offenses of both teams are similar too, they both can flat out hit when they are going good, but I feel the Phillies have the edge here, so I give them the advantage.

Cubs over Phillies
Cubs can hit at least as well as the Phillies and can pitch better, and Harden, Dempster, and Big Z are easily better then Hamels, Myers, and Moyer.

AL West : L.A. Angels
AL Central : Chicago White Sox / Minnesota
AL East: Tampa Bay Rays
AL Wild Card: Boston Red Sox

Red Sox over Angels
I admit I am a Red Sox fan, so I probably evaluate their talent too high. However in the playoffs they have been pretty good over the last few seasons, especially in the World Series. I feel Beckett, Dice-K, and Lester are better than the front 3 of the Angels. Their hitting is pretty equal, and if Papi doesn't continue to crush the ball the Angels could steal the series. I think this series might be better than the World Series itself.

Rays over White Sox / Minnesota
The Rays can, and probably will, beat either team they face here. The White Sox should hold off the Twins but the Twins are a pretty good team with a lot of young talent, they should continue to be good next year, this is really a one time shot for the White Sox, they don't have much young talent, Alexei Ramirez, being a big exception, but with player like Dye, Griffey, and Thome whose best years are behind them they will need to do a lot to make they playoffs next year. So hopefully they see that and step it up to make it.

Red Sox over Rays
Again, I'm probably overestimating the Red Sox, however I think they can beat the Rays. it's not like the Red Sox are doing horrible this year they will have won about 95 games, with Lowell, Dice-K, Papi, and Drew missing time this year. So this match will be hard for both teams, I give the Rays all the credit in winning almost 100 games. I just bank of the Red Sox experience to come through this series as the winners.

World Series - Red Sox over Cubs
I think either the Angels, Rays or the Red Sox can beat any team in the N.L. this year, so sorry Cubs fans but I don't really see them winning the World Series this year. The only chance they have of winning is if Dempster, Harden and Zambrano pitch every game of the series, and do it well, and with Big Z blowing up left and right since his no hitter he might not be a huge help to them in the playoffs. The Cubs can hit, but the Red Sox can hit at least as well. And one thing to remember the Red Sox haven't lost a single World Series game since Terry Francona became the Manager.

Well, that's my playoff scenario. Feel free to argue with it, I will even try to defend my picks if you want. I realize that I am too big a Sox fan to not pick them, or else I'd probably pick the Angels. So don't complain about that too much.

my twins need to win tonight to take the lead!

watching the game now it was a good comeback

*EDIT*

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WE GOT IT!!
GB
Definitely, go TWINS!
I am fortunate to have three of my favorite teams in it, the Dodgers, Twins, and Angels. I'm up for an all California series that no one east of the Rockies will watch!

Well, I got the Cubs wrong, I still have a good chance of getting three out of 4 though. Still it hurts to be wrong about the team you pick to go to the World Series.

Man, I still can't believe the Mets collapsed two seasons in a row. We need relief pitching, bad.
GB
Yeah, the Mets need some pitching, but who doesn't? I bet an NY team pays 800 Billion to CC Sabathia this off-season. That will be sad, but the Yankees have a ton of cash coming off the books and a 3rd place finish this year to motivate them. The Mets don't want to be outdone.
Mcfr0st
all of my favorite teams are out of it Sad

me being from Chicago makes me a fan of the Cubs and the White Sox, and me living in Minnesota makes me a fan of the Twins.

Twins got knocked out by the Sox, before the playoffs, and the Sox and Cubs got knocked out of the first round.

heres hope for next season
gandalfthegrey
We were all so wrong!

Who would have thought Tampa Bay and Philadelphia!?!
