"The Security Group at the University of California in Santa Barbara has released the video that shows the attacks carried out against the Sequoia voting system. The video shows an attack where a virus-like software spreads across the voting system. The coolest part of the video is the one that shows how the 'brainwashed' voting terminals can use different techniques to change the votes even when a paper audit trail is used. Pretty scary stuff. The video is absolute proof that these types of attacks are indeed feasible and not just a conspiracy theory. Also, the part that shows how the 'tamperproof' seals can be completely bypassed in seconds is very funny (and quite disturbing at the same time)."

I graduated from the department and took classes from the professors that led this. (:

I hope they can be 100% sure of their vote counts... If people loose faith in the democratic system, it could get ugly.

I think any type of electronic system is going to have it's flaws but then if you consider the hanging chad issue in Florida I guess physical voting systems have flaw's as well. I don't think there is any perfect voting procedure. I don't think however that any errors would matter anyway. If the errors were balanced then it should even out theoretically.

If?

Well, if the majority of people do, that is. If too many people out there are disgusted with the whole system, and don't believe that they have any say in politics at all anymore because the voting is rigged, they will become more and more dissatisfied with a government that they begin to see as domineering over them, instead of serving them... Well, they'll start thinking about other ways to change a government. Ways that can't be stopped by clever use of computer code.
