Running server OS

kk86bioinfo
Hello, I am trying to use Vmware Workstation to run both windows and linux-based OS in a server. Does that possible? I need some comments about Windows 2008 Server and Linux-based server, which one is better or there is other alternatives? I need some user-friendly GUI for other user in my company but cannot sacrifice the usage of linux system for some applications. Is there any good way to achieve this?

Yes, it is possible. I wouldn't recommend it though as running two OSs at the same time is going to burn resources.

What exactly are you going to use the server to, uh, serve? Webserver?
