Is there any PHP editor like Netbeans for Java? I am a PHP programmer and i would like to gain time when cadig. I'm using notepad++ but i am too slow. And don't ike to work with dreamweaver.
Thanks for your suggestions.
i think notepad++ is the best it gets as far as php goes

You can get it free for personal use, but you have to explain to them why you want to. I got a free license years ago (though I never really used the product much). Worth checking out, though I also use notepad++ and just upload the files to test them.
You can also try lite version of komodo edit. But if you are looking for a WYSIWYG, you can try phped from www.nusphere.com or http://www.xlinesoft.com/phprunner/google3.aspx. But both of these are paid ones.
Thanks for this ost but don'thesitate to post free tools too!
I already work with notepadd++
but i am wasting a lot of time to see mistakes!
hmmm... try checking out this site....
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/library/os-php-ide/index.html
i think that will help.
I just want to ask why you dont want to work with dreamweaver??

How about, well... NetBeans? NetBeans is not only a Java IDE, it is now also a PHP IDE. True, there is no stable version of NetBeans for PHP available yet (it will be there once the final version of NetBeans 6.5 is out), but development builds of NetBeans 6.5 are already quite stable and usable, and many people use them for their day to day development. More info at http://php.netbeans.org/.
Disclosure: I am a member of the NetBeans team.
You can use PHP designer2008 pro which has both the development and deployment interface combined together. It can check the syntax dynamicaly(that is check while you type).Perhaps the best PHP IDE out there.
Get it from--

That's not an IDE, the topic starter asked for a PHP IDE.

Phpdesigner2007 is good and free. 2008 version isn't though, that's why I switched to dreamweaver.

Please give me the site to dowload it. I already tried phprunner, but i think it is limited.

I think notepad so good. I always use it daily. Thanks you.[/quote]
rapid php editor good editor.html, php realtime wiever.
The good IDEs (PHP ED / Zend) cost big bucks, so chances are they're out of your price range.
Don't choose PHP Designer - It's slow, hard to customise and fairly buggy.
Aptana and Eclipse are virtually the same(Aptana is based on Eclipse), Netbeans is also fairly similar to Eclipse but its php plugin is extremely buggy. All three are programmed in java so you can run them on pretty much any operating system you care to name, though it also means they can be rather sluggish.
I personally use notepad++ with the twilight theme - it's quick to open, looks great and is fairly compact.
Zend Studio..
