Parvez Musharraf steps down

akshar
Parvez Musharraf has stepped down from the presidency. he did this to avoid impeachement proposed by the local parliament.
What could be the implications of this on Asia?
America always considered him as friend I suppose. India considered him as enemy but he was better than the current government in any ways.

Opinions guys.
bogger
he's a tyrannic dictator, in my view, the only effect of this is a positive one, we may actually get a president who's not just an army peon, and he may actually try to deal with the talibanis near the afghan border
akshar
but does it mean current government will handle them (talibani) well?
vineeth
In India, we are concerned about the democratic future of Pakistan. History teaches that n Pakistan, persons are not much important and it is religious or political emotions that decides that countries destiny. Parvez Musharraf is just a name, now or later another military leader will come and lead that country... Anyhow, it is an internal matter of Pakistan.

But I need to say, I love people of Pakistan.
