Can anybody provide me with a solution to automate the process of creating the id cards? I have some 300 database of people with name, address, etc etc. in excel spreadsheet. So i want to retrieve the data from the excel and be able to create id card with the format that i just created.
I would prefer if this solution was available in photoshop or indesign or even pagemaker.
In the previous company I worked for we created ID cards for countries so the systems were very large with many millions of people in databases.
Then I guess such a solution is not good for you.
I think that you first need to choose what will be your printing device. (If you want real cards it requires a card printer)
Depending on this choice you will have to prepare files on a specific format for this printer.
And then depending on the format you can define what tools you need to produce it.
I assume you also need photo on this ID card.
But if not and your format is text only, it may be done by using Mail Merge in word.
