PHP Editing Question

GiLaD
I'm looking for a program that will search in a bunch of PHP files, a code line and delete/replace it with something else.
I don't even know if there is a program like that, but still it's worth triyng.

I need it because I built a script that has over 200 pages, and I found a glitch at all of the script pages, I don't want to go over each file and edit it, so I thought maybe I'll ask it on the forums. Smile

i know for a fact that the latest versions of dreamweaver (mx onwards, probably even earlier) can do that....search and replace in multiple files...

you might also want to learn how to use unix style search-and-replace functions... grep, sed etc are very VERY powerful tools..

EDIT: just googled it, and u dont even need something as complex as dreamweaver just for that... look at http://www.divlocsoft.com/ or http://www.funduc.com/search_replace.htm or just google for "search and replace in multiple files"

You can also use notepad or wordpad to replace one line of text with another one just go to edit -> replace.
And by the way you should learn OOP so that doesn't happen again Wink

At least use code libraries if the code is repeated in every single file.

If you were in a linux box use the mc utility. It's search a string in all file in a directory. For the modify the file php i advise you to use Quanta (for kde environment) or bluefish (for the gnome environment). They are really easy to use... and they have many options for the php language.
