help needed - phpmyadmin under Ubuntu

DoctorBeaver
After much trial & tribulation I managed to install Ubuntu - no-one told me I had to use "Safe graphics mode".

Now I want to switch my website development work from my Windows PC to the Ubuntu system. I managed to install phpmyadmin but I don't know the default username & password. I've tried what I thought it was, but that didn't work.

I tried looking at the config.inc.php file (couldn't at first until I did the chmod bit) but it's empty.

Can anyone help, please?

As I'm a total Linux newbie, can any replies be in complete idiot language? Thank you Laughing

Well, the default username and password for phpmyAdmin is root with no password. I believe it's changeable through config.ini, see here for more information.

The default password is the same as mysql's root password.
