Buzzing Noise

Hello.

I have connected my laptop to my TV using a VGA cable.

When i plug in a jack into my computer and a audio leads into my tv.

(that lead)

It works fine running of my battery but if i plug it into the mains i then get a noise in the noise (buzzing).

If you can help that would be great.

have u tried keeping the power supply (its the box which converts AC into DC) some distance away of the laptop and the audio cables

Try a different electrical outlet on a different circuit.
Sometimes noise gets induced on a ground wire in a cuircut.
It's called a ground loop.

Thanks for your replies.

It was plugged into a surgemaster plug that divides the one plug into like 8.

I will try it in a different plug and keep it away from the other wires and see what happerns.

(I will post back here later when i move back into that room to test it)

Also make sure the audio cables are well separated from AC power cables. If they are too close together, the magnetic fields from the power cable will induce into the audio cable and cause interference.
(Do you hear a popping sound immediately when turning anything on?)
