Anyone know a no frills mp3 player for Ubuntu?
Ubuntu - Media Player
I would suggest amarok. It was made for KDE but works great with gnome. Just run
sudo apt-get install amarok
also make sure you install the restricted media with
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
