Does someone know a good tutorial (or can explain himself) how to make an image transparent?

You want to look up "transparent GIF tutorial" or "transparent PNG tutorial" - I don't think that you can currently do it with Jpegs, but I have been out of the graphical scene for a minute... Gifs will land you the most universal support, but PNGs are smaller (typically)... Hopefully this will start you off...
