Question regarding phpnuke and phpbb3 in ftp

leosthenerd
Could you guys help me out? I'm trying to install phpnuke and phpbb3 both in the ftp account
(My website will have a phpnuke portal and a phpbb3 forum and yes this is possible) but I've tried and I don't really have a clue what I'm doing Very Happy So if somebody could tell me how to set up phpnuke and phpbb3 in my ftp account that would be great!

NOTE: My account is hosted on server 3 if it is of any importance Wink

Thx,

you know it's possible but don't know what you're doing?

I know it's possible but it could be that there is no bridge available atm and you'll have to integrate them yourself (which you probably can't).

First I guess you should try to find a bridge, and if you can't find that the easiest thing to do would be to dissable registrations on the frontpage and just make that very open for guests.

I have a bb3/nuke bridge, but what do I do with it? I apologize about being clueless, I've done this before but on a very different setup with different circumstances...do I extract the bridge to the ftp account and then install nuke or bb3?

I'd try it on my own pc first (WAMPP). Then you could do it the same way on frihost, but instead of moving it all to the dir you upload the files over ftp. And instead of http://localhost you use http://...frih.net

And on the place where you downloaded the bridge there should be a small tutorial, or maybe a readme with the bridge.

edit: I got nuke to work Very Happy but in order to get to it i have to type in the url www.ltn.frih.org/html instead of just www.ltn.frih.org...any ideas on how to make it show up at just www.ltn.frih.org?

btw does anybody know how to change the admin username and password in phpnuke 8.1? I've got into nuke but with the username admin and a randomly generated password (not mine). I would like to change it to my own, also I am assuming I have to create a separate user account too...

- I need to figure out how to merge the admin and user accounts I have in phpnuke now.

- I need to install phpbb3 inside of modules-->forums in phpnuke

- I need to find that black theme...does anybody know where I can find that classic black phpnuke theme?

you should go to the phpnuke forums for that, they know a lot more about it and most people here have probably not used it much or even ever.

what forum? I have an account with phpnuke and there is no forum?! they have community forums that are in every other nationality except mine and there arent any in english? if you would give me some links of ideas or some thing that would be great because I've looked all over and cant seem to find any...

sorry, I thought their site had a forum. If I where you I'd try to find some other CMS, I hope that's still possible.

Either
  • A Move the file from public_html/html to public_html or
  • B Use a redirection script.

Redirection scripts

HTML Meta redirect:
Code:

<html> <head>
<title>IU Webmaster redirect</title>
<META http-equiv="refresh" content="5;URL=http://www.ltn.frih.org/html/"> </head>
<body>
<center>The site is at an alternate location. You will be redirected in 5 seconds, if you do not want to wait click <a href="http://www.ltn.frih.org/html/"> here.</a> </center>
</body>
</html>

PHP header redirect:
Code:

<?
header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently");
header( "Location: http://www.ltn.frih.org/html/");
?>
