yeah, whatever happened to windsurfing? 20 years ago you couldnt go to the local lake and not see windsurfers. now youd be lucky to see one...???
wow windsurfing i want to try this sports , im surfer here but i dnt have board for windsurfing.
Yeah i think windsurfing is kinda dying. I remember in the '80s everyone had a surf kit. This was in the time the surfsails were still triangle shaped. My nephew gave me his surfboard and stuff a bit later in the '90ies when the big hype was over already. Quite some people continued doing it, but more as a cheap alternative for sailing. The recreational surfing. The extreme, thrillseeking kids all switched to surfing (without sail) or kiteboarding. I just checked out my old set to have a little surf. I needed some stuff to replace so i checked ebay. Its obvious full of people who clean their garages and sell their surf gear.
I got my license in my holidays in Greece. I learned it quite quickly and I think it's very fun
I don't own a board yet, though. A ocean is near my home, so I think I'll go windsurfing at home now and then
It impressed me what you can reach when you're really good. I surf with 3.5 - 4.5 sqm riggs and I saw people with 8.0 riggs - of course with a belt, but it was great how fast they got.
Maybe I'll get myself a board and a rigg for christmas.
windsurfing is great, used to do it on our lake at home. haven't gone for almost 10 years now. Hopefully i'll get the chance to go soon.
I know that actually buying the stuff an't too expensive. But it's the problem of storing it close to the lake or sea.
thanks
