Hmm... should I be offended? Are you asking my age...

They were British TV commedies from the 70's and 80's. If you ever get the chance to see them on satellite - give them a go.
The sitcom that I watched while growing up were 'Home Along d Riles' (Riles means rail road) and 'Okidokidok'. Both are local sitcoms here in The Philippines. I watched both sitcoms for at least 4 years each. The first one lasted longer though.
Here are the overviews for each sitcom:
Home Along d Riles:
Kevin Cosme (the main character, a widower) and his family (his 3 sons and a daughter, and a nephew) live in a small house along the railroad. The story goes as Kevin struggles to support his family's needs - financially and emotionally.
The story also tells how his sister in-law named Ason is constantly trying to seduce him. LOL. The story was funny because on the early days of their lives, Kevin and Ason were lovers. Ason has a twin sister named Sion (if I remember her name correctly). Ason's father was against her relationship with Kevin so they decided to run away. On the night when they suppose to run away, Kevin mistaken Sion to be Ason. After a few years Sion died and Ason helped Kevin took care of his kids. It's nice because they live as neighbors.
Some of the funny parts of the story happened in the office where Kevin worked as a messenger. One of his bosses (the male one, the female one was so nice to Kevin) is always pushing him around and it always ends up the boss hurting himself.
Okidokidok:
This is a story of a veterinarian named Aga (Doc Aga) and his daily life as an animal doctor, a lover of a beautiful girl (with an ugly father), and as a friend to a guy who he doesn't know have a BIG crush on him. LOL.
These are the sitcoms I watched while growing up. I miss these sitcoms.
Cheers!
Interresting thread :) Had forgotten of many of these sitcoms :) Here are the ones I can remember (I'm born in 1975):
Family Ties (1982)
The Cosby Show (1984)
The Wonder Years (1988)
Saved by the Bell (1989)
Seinfeld (1990)
What ever happened to the good old sitcoms? Even the good old cartoons, for that matter. Everything today is very strange... where went Bugs Bunny and his wit? Not to mention his cross-dressing. But, that's another matter entirely!
My favorite sitcoms were...
Full House
Family Matters
Friends
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Home Improvement
Married with Children
