BS 25999 is a Business Continuity Management (BCM) standard.

A Business Continuity Plan is to create and validate a practiced logistical plan for how an organization will recover and restore partially or completely interrupted critical function(s) within a predetermined time after a disaster or extended disruption.

Its like a scheduled maintenance of your vehicles to prevent the breakdown.

I found out this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BS_25999. It is a standard produced by British Institution. It composes of Code of Practice and Specifications on Business Continuity.
