Adding/Removing to Tables for a Game....

polly-gone
So as I have said before in a few other posts... I am making a game.

One of the siege weapons is a battering ram.

One of the upgrades for it is a handbrake.

The game will be placed on the server using a PHP install script similar to phpBB or phpNuke.

Now let's say world 1 has a hand brake, but world 2 does not.

In the installation script, would it be more efficient to have the PHP script go in and remove all battering ram combinations that have a hand brake so that they don't go into the battering ram combinations table, or would it work better to make the full tables with the hand brake included, and then have a second script remove all rows that have the handbrake?

Thanks,

best would be to do as much work as possible in the installation script. That has to run only once, the others thousands of times.

The first one. Let the data not go into tables than populate them and then delete.
