AdBlock Plus on OS X Javascript Problem

I just got a new Mac laptop which I installed Firefox on. I installed the AdBlock Plus add on to this but I have found that for some reason it blocks all Javascript. I haven't had any trouble with this add-on on any of the Windows machines I've installed it on. What can I do to fix this problem?
