The other day, I heard the following conversation:
"Charles is related to you the same way I am to your son."
"And you are related to me in the same way Charles is to you."

How are Charles and the second man related?
i was also confused

Cousins?

you have to be more specific
HalfBloodPrince
I don't think it can be deciphered because we don't know how "you" and "I" are related. If "you" and "I" are brothers, then "I"'s son is "you"'s nephew, but we don't know that.
Star Wars Fanatic
I think I have it:
Charles is the second mans grandfather.

I thought I had the answer for a moment, but apparently HalfBloodPrince was correct. It can't be deciphered.

It's pretty easy to solve once you realize that the two statements aren't necessarily made by the same person.

P1 says - "Charles is related to you the same way I am to your son."
P2 says - "And you are related to me in the same way Charles is to you."

Charles' relation with P2 = P1's relation with P2's son
and, P1's relation with P2 = Charles' relation with P1

One of the scenarios that fits well is -

Chales is P1's Father and P1 is P2's Father.
