Google's Android Project

guhuai
I just wanted to start a topic on Google's Android project as I didn't see much on it yet.

Does anyone know when the first Android phones will start showing up on the market? I've heard that Sprint is part of the open handset alliance, so they will allow Android devices; I've also heard that Verizon is going to allow Android on some of their phones sometime fairly soon. Does anyone have any more information, or could anyone verify this?

I'm excited for this to finally come to fruition. It will be really nice to have so much freedom with your phones and handheld devices.

It'll be very nice if you could provide more information on this... Smile

Looks good, but we have to wait for something more stable and not these samples, in order to have a proper comparison with iphone. Wink

You can find some info here.
Basically it 's a operating system for portable devices/handhelds, just like symbian and windows mobile.
It is based on the Linux, so i'm guessing it 's open source.
