The Terraformation of Mars

raginggenerals
This isn't really in the news. it is just an idea...

Here is the situation:
Earth has too much carbon-Dioxide,
Mars has no atmosphere,

Why doesn't Earth compress Carbon-Dioxide into huge containers, and send them to mars??

The result will be:

Earth has less Carbon-Dioxide,
Mars' temperature will rise causing the ice to melt,
Mars will develop an atmosphere,
Plants begin to grow,
Plants make Oxygen from the carbon-dioxide,
Mars is inhabitable!

This is an idea to save Earth and restore Mars,

killing two birds with one stone, if I can use that expression!

There's "only" two little problems:
--> Sending the Carbon-Dioxide to Mars it's economically enviable.

--> Mars don't have that much ice.

It would be nice if an idea like that could work but creating an atmosphere it isn't so simple.

If it only it were that simple. At the amount of CO2 that humans have released into the atmosphere (on the order of billions of tons) ever the richest government or person couldn't afford to send billions of tons of anything outside our atmosphere not to mention the cost to sequester it into a compressed form.

And obviously forming an atmosphere is a little more complicated then just releasing CO2.

And how many billions do we spend getting just small probes to Mars? And how much more CO2 would be released by all the rocket lifting power required to get it there?

If there is anything we could do to terraform Mars now, it would have to involve only organisms or self-replicating machines sent there only by multiplying itself could the small cargo we could transport there have any effect.

Even though this sounds like a good solution, it would be a HUGE change. Such changes could have horrible, unexpected consequences. Read any sci fi book. It's just not a good idea, because we just don't know enough to account for every possibility.

Also, where does that leave Earth? It would mean we'd never learn how to control our emissions and the state of our environment. What happens when Mars becomes just like Earth? Would we terraform Pluto, then? Give Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune artificial surfaces? Vaporize Venus's atmosphere and create a more hospitable one? Too many questions. Let's just stop destroying our own planet before we mess with others.

Idea is very good, but only water is not necessary to form atmosphere.First of all it is not definetly sure that there is ice, Atleast what i read, News was "substance similar to ice characteristics found".So this idea may not work out Smile. All have hopes that there is life on the mars, if atleast one plant or organism exists on mars, it will be great revolution.
