Hello frihosters. I am having a lot of problems installing linux. It is giving some errors of southbridge!@#$@#$@%$!! Please help. I have an acer Aspire 4520.

Can you be a bit more verbose? Sounds like the OS does not like you hadware.

Yes, please include Ubuntu version you are trying to load and what hardware you are using.
I've used Ubuntu and it is a good distribution of linux which is usually compatible with most hardware. It can even be installed and run from an external hard drive and you can use it on different computers.
